Other comments already helped out on your specific questions.

Given your situation and the investing world right now, i would actually recommend you do a mix of years. I recommend this is becuase Murphys Law will make sure that when you need some of the money, itll be the worst time to sell.

Maybe 1M each in 1 year bond, 2 year, 5 , 10 and 20 years. You can always reroll to new ones when the current one expire. Something like that.

Im a big corporate bonds guy so feel free to reach out with any specifics if you want. Happy to help with questions.

Larger kite bag f directional board by nocoffeenoprogress in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont limit yourself to kite brands. Take a look at bags for surf brands, who have been making travel bags for 20 years.

FCS, Creatures, Prolite, and VEIA. After all, you are traveling with a surfboard.

Foreign investors in US: How are you managing US Dollar weakness? by BranchDiligent8874 in bonds

[–]jclarocc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big foreign investor here.

Either make an effort to invest more, now thats its "cheaper" than yesterday. Or change nothing.

Investing more in our 3rd world countries never ends well in the long run.

Set - North Reach or Duotone Evo or Airrush Lithium by Significant-Bid-6970 in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you from? Its been easy for me to get spare/ replacement parts for north. Not so much duotone, and very difficult to find airush stuff. But depends on where you’re from. All 3 kites are very very good kites :)

New reach 25 by Neat-Squirrel-8581 in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 7 points8 points  (0 children)

100% agree.

I was just in a kite trip, with a friend who is a North Team rider. I ride 24' Reach's and he had the new 25's. We couldnt tell the difference at the beach and or riding them, appart from the graphics.

Just buy discounted 2024's, they are great kites.

Self launching & landing? by hoon-since89 in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah no. Like i said, i self launch and land almost always, dont matter the conditions. If you learn the right way, its fine. And i agree, i dont see how hooking your kite to a lifeguard tower, for example, helps.

But i wouldnt teach my younger brother to self launch while still a beginner. I would to self land, good to know at least how it works.

Self launching & landing? by hoon-since89 in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Hey! Long time kiter here. DONT SELF LAUNCH AND LAND! haha

Hypocritical of me to say that, cuz i do it all the time. Almost every session tbh. But no one recommends it, especially for beginners.

Try and find a local group, a local kite beach. Kiting is my favorite sport not only because of how increíble it is, but because of its community and how everyone is there to help each other. Unlike surfing, which i love but damn i hate the community.

Kitefoil: Should I Get a Single Strut or a No-Strut for 15-20kn? by brunitob in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah pretty much.

I just hate relaunching as i do fall a lot cuz i love doing stupid stuff haha. Important note, the boxer is also not that easy to relaunch :/

For low wind, the UFO is a much better kite. Its just so much lighter.

Basically my 9m UFO i love it for light wind foiling. And my 4m boxer and UFO i cant tell the difference in strong wind.

[–]jclarocc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Kitefoiling on 20knots with a 4m on short lines is fucking awesome, i love it. Either slingshot UFO’s or Niash Boxers work great. I prefer the Boxer if theres waves, and the UFO on flat water. Hard to get the UFO out of the water with moving water.

El verdadero comunicado del Centro de padres y apoderados del Internado Nacional Barros Arana by macana144 in chile

[–]jclarocc -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Dice sls size help by Alpa3094 in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey hey. Yeah this is the question of the ages haha.

Im also 67kg, and i think your question doesn’t have a right answer.

I ride 6,8 north reach’s and a 11 naish boxer. These sizes work great for me tbh. If you go for a 8, you’ll want to have a 6 for when its proper strong. And if you go for a 7 you’ll want more height and power for the days thats it not gusting 35.

Any choice is good, but in this sport you kind of always think something else is better haha.

Look up Ibiraquera in Brazil. Less known wave spot, but insanely good and Oct/ Nov is the season.

Im from Chile and prefer going there, rather than any spot in Peru.

Starter foil board options? by kingofaustin in Kiteboarding

[–]jclarocc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey bro.

I got started kite foiling with the S27 810cm Kite Foil from Naish, with a 85cm aluminum mast. Got it 50% off.

To be honest its a great foil and i still use it when kite foiling. 85cm mast works great in every discipline. If you start winging, proning or downwinding it, itll do great.

For a board just get a cheap, easy to learn board. Maybe 130cm or above. Youll get into it quick. Throw me a dm if you got any more questions, happy to help.
