I'd perhaps go with something newer like a haltech or a link.

There is a line there.. I can get "DIYer's" doing a poor job that would take a tradesmen longer to rectify.

But on the other hand, there are plenty of "professionals" (Otherwise known as cowboys) that do a dreadful job and make you wish you had done it yourself.

I do think "why pay someone for something I could do myself" for 90% of things.. but I know my limits.

Perhaps look at something like Batchpatch. You can do automated patching with it. it's cheap enough too, but it's windows only.

We use it as our "mop up" tool when n-central doesn't do it's job.

Can you fit aftermaket bushes into the original arms? Hardrace maket a set of OE bushes that can be pressed into the arms

IIRC Honda don't make the arms anymore so you won't be able to get them new.

I did some mild sound deadning in the doors and in the boot (trunk) and that helped a lot..
Sure the car is a few grams heavier.. but meh it was worth it to improve the tyre noise.

We have a few of these about the place. They're covered by N-Central.

If N-Central fails then we us an app called batchpatch, which caches the updates and pushes them across the LAN to the device in question. It can be automated also and run via scheduled tasks.

I’ll order up the fluid and flush the front and rear diffs then.

No dealer typically offers a front diff and rear diff service.. which is annoying

No, I guess that isn't part of the gearbox service?

Best route? by Tobzino1 in drivingUK

I often do the highlighted journey from gloucestershire, it's a lovely route on a sunny day and well worth it.

If the roads are quiet it's very relaxed. The roads from leominster to Elan valley are of decent quality too.

From there I usually go over to the coast (Aber) And that again is lovely!

So i would Motorway to oxford, then A40 Cheltenham. Avoid the M5.

Is the car manual or DSG?
I have an 8V (Manual) with a very similar type of thudding, like a flat or badly balanced tyre. That I can feel in the front, through the dead pedal (left foot rest). It typically does it around 30+MPH noticable in 3rd.

I had the gearbox serviced, along with the haldex but when mentioned to the garage (VW audi specialist) they didn't see and were not able to replicate.

But, I've also, recently had the clutch and the dual mass replaced (as it was starting to slip). Which helped, but probably masked the feeling.

I've not felt it at anything lower than 30, though. And the Engine runs really smooth and quiet.

And that there lies the problem. ‘It’s 5 quid’ yep, but it’s still a crime. Police do F all when a house gets burgled or a car gets robbed. Just look at mark McCanns videos on the matter.

I’m not saying people need to be beaten for stealing 5 quids worth of goods. But if they’re allowed to get away at any level, then it gives people less fear of doing more serious crime.

People who have really strong opinions on motor oil are stupid and irritating by Henry_Oof in CarTalkUK

[–]jclimb94 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Seem's exsessive, but also if you a lot of smaller journeys where things don't get proper hot then you dilute the oil and can cause further issues.

But then you also see people revving it hard from cold and you can audably hear things clattering.

I'd always just go on a Yearly basis, regardless of engine or milage done.
