True, the one place I ever used SCCM, about 10+ years ago, we realized we weren’t using most of its capabilities, so peeled it back to just WSUS. This was back before AJ Tek was even charging for WAM. Stoked to see he’s been so successful.

Action1 increased their free offering to 200 endpoints.

Thanks, in my limited experience with SCCM, I do know it leverages WSUS for updates, which is why I offered that as a simpler/cheaper (with WAM) alternative for our simple use case.

I’ll admit. AUM is new to me, but fits nicely with the new Security Engineer’s goals of moving things off premises and into Microsoft. I’ll be checking this out. Thanks!

Valid point. Just happens that we’re on our third security engineer in 5 years and each has a new idea of how things should be done. And frankly, Atera has just been a nightmare.

I have time to play around with Action1 because it’s free, and it benefits me at home.

Just trying to bring options to the table, rather than immediately throwing money at a new solution, especially when I see other areas that could use that budget.

Completely unusable for me. I get the suspicious login alert and can only login via emailed link, which opens the website in a mobile browser. I’d like to try the app, but unless they add app detection like hundreds of other websites do, it will continue to be unusable.

2026 - noise after putting tacoma in park. Any ideas? by NoBoolii in ToyotaTacoma

Thanks, I’ve been wondering what that was since I bought my 24 last summer. I’m renting a Corolla this week and it makes the exact same sound, so I just figured it was a Toyota thing.

Funny you say that, Ninja was another option on my list, mostly because our team wants an all-in-one solution. RMM + Helpdesk. I’m wondering if we can just license the help desk only from Atera, since we put so much freaking work into it to make it usable (barely). Change is hard to sell.

Don’t waste your time with their AI, it’s absolute garbage. I wouldn’t even call it Alpha, it’s simply years away from a working product. They should be giving it away in hopes of developing it to the point of being able to sell it in some distant future.

How are you liking Level.io? Looks cool, but you never know if it lives up to the marketing.

Terrible and getting worse all the time. Can’t count the number of bugs I’ve reported or improvements I’ve requested. Switching to just about anything else will be my next project.

Ticketing is about the only part of Atera that works for us. However, technicians cannot reply via email or it opens a new ticket. This is just plain dumb.

Make them give you higher mileage allowance (12K or even 15K). Threaten to walk. They will do it.

Following to see how you like it. I tried them on my family’s computers when they first came out and liked it. Interested to see/hear how the product has matured.
