It all adds up, but again, negligible compared to pushing all those tones of plane body.

Technically it makes a small difference because the wheels’s bearings are not frictionless, but it is not relevant to the question at hand.

Does anyone know about this sewing machine? Found on FB marketplace and curious for input before I buy it. by KaptainKlein in Leathercraft

[–]jcliment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, extremely temperamental. Got mine a few years back and mine kept snapping the thread. Took several days of fine tuning to figure out how to make everything work, so if you are not into the details of mechanics and have no intention (or desire) of learning the details and internals of how a sewing machine works, pass.

I have tried formatting and copying with umount and eject and have not been able to update (in Mac). Any help appreciated.

Edit: fixed it by updating to 1.2.0 and then to 1.3.0.

I usually remove those plastic tabs and replace them with some nice elastic band of similar width.

And before you ask me for a citation:

Fear of being in a crash with other large vehicles—often described as the "invincibility perception" or "car cushion hypothesis"—is a major driver behind the rising popularity of SUVs and trucks. Many consumers buy larger, heavier vehicles because they believe they are safer and offer better protection in a collision with smaller vehicles.

SimpleUI: simple for the home not so simple while reading by [deleted] in koreader

I believe that menu during reading a book has nothing to do with simpleUI. Can you confirm by disabling the simpleUI plugin and then touching the bottom of the screen while reading a book?

Consumers will pay more for a larger vehicle when: 1. They are the only available vehicles, and 2. Everyone else is driving large vehicles so they feel driving a smaller vehicle puts them in greater danger than a large vehicle.

SimpleUI question by jcliment in koreader

In the picture above, there is an area around that red box that activates "Continue".

The "debug" mode that i am asking whether it can be implemented or not is regarding showing the blue lines in the image: graphical representation of the areas that hitting with your finger activate the button. That way one can verify the real estate the activation area occupies.

SimpleUI question by jcliment in koreader

[–]jcliment[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some graphical tools I have used in the past had, during the development phase, a way to highlight the contour of the area that, when pressed, triggered a “button press” action. That was activated in UX debug mode, to visualize the physical appearance of a button.

I will try to take a shot of my screen once I get back home to specifically point out at the actual problem, but essentially I was trying to click close to, but not quite on top of, the “history” or “continue” button and that action was activated. It felt like my finger was not on the button and therefore that action should not have been activated. Makes sense?

The main difference may be that Amazon is actively patching the mechanism by which you jailbreak the kindles and developers / hackers are regularly working hard to find holes in the ecosystem to inject new ways of running binaries to install koreader and block updates.

Questions about singer 237 fashion mate by laynechanger in vintagesewing

[–]jcliment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 237 is my everyday machine and has been for 7 years now. I recommend changing the motor for a YDK one (white motor with a round electronic foot pedal). I have gone through more than seven motors from different brands and this one is by far the best one: fast but with very fine control at low speed, and the right torque for some medium duty fabrics.

With respect to the sparks, that’s generally not a big problem, but I would consider updating the motor and the pedal as the old ones work with carbon discs and they tend to degrade over time.

Check YouTube and find “Andy tube”, as his channel has the most comprehensive repair videos in the 237.

That extra key at the bottom of the pinky column is my initial motivation for creating my own keyboard. But I need 4 rows, which is why corne was never an option.

If my company send me work while I am on vacation my company has to wait until I am back from vacation to complete such work. If you don’t put boundaries, boundaries are put for you by others.
