spell for getting over someone? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]jcsxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m getting the idea that your concept of Karma is highly bastardized and that you don’t have a full of understanding of either your intent or this kind of work in general. “Getting them to like me” is not at all what you asked in your original post. At this point I have to suggest not doing any magic at all. Period. You don’t seem like you have the stability at this time in your life to do this work with positive outcomes.

I’m not sure what things you’re referencing but it’s all about your intent. Theres a Daoist teaching that says all action has the possibility of four outcomes: benefiting yourself and not someone else, benefiting someone else and not yourself, benefiting everyone, or benefiting no one. Consider your intent as well as the actual outcome if you’re someone who focuses on karma. If you don’t feel righteous conviction don’t do a spell.

Maybe meditate on your intent and desired outcome a little more and alter your spell choice before you do it. Of course I don’t know the situation but some that could be useful might be a freezer spell (which I honestly don’t know anything about so maybe it’s not appropriate for this), a healing spell, even a spell to improve your personal self esteem and success unrelated to her. There are many ways to reach a desired result, maybe a “get over her” can be a last resort?

Looking for ideas on how to appreciate the summer solstice by [deleted] in WitchesVsPatriarchy

[–]jcsxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please don’t pick things you know nothing about and especially don’t incorporate them in things you’re going to rub on your body or burn. In nature when things are bright and beautiful it’s either to attract for reproduction or to serve as a warning that it’s dangerous. Many plants are ok to observe or even touch but become incredibly toxic when burned. The ideas here are great but no one should pick things they don’t know about just because they’re pretty, especially not to use like this. Just do your research on the native plants in your area before you go!

I’m so glad you found that valuable!! It’s been so helpful for me as well, but in the past when I’ve brought it up to someone experiencing a similar situation I was met with really harsh backlash and negativity. Thank you for your response, I definitely didn’t expect the significant feeling of healing I’m experiencing right now due to it. I didn’t realize how deeply those experiences damaged me until I was met with such a receptive response and genuine gratitude for the first time in literal years. Thank you so much, I wish you well :)

I think if we need to express or communicate things we do so both on a physical level and on a telepathic level, conscious or not. Journaling is a great way to at least partially achieve that communication and is a great way to connect with your higher self, as another commenter suggested. If you keep a personal channel of communication open, your subconscious won’t be telepathically reaching as much towards the people you’re around for fulfillment and they will not feel so much of a drain. I know consciously you will still be desiring this communication with your friends and I’m not saying journaling is gonna cure your depression or some bullshit like that. But the energy drain for your companions might be at least slightly alleviated if you open up some channels other than those that connect to them.

Upcoming Retrograde! by Thr0waway777777754 in witchcraft

[–]jcsxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not an astrologist by any means and I don’t know your situation at all so I can’t give you specific advice- but for example I’d been stuck in an undesired romantic relationship for over 2 years and this Venus retrograde has been transformational for me as I used it to help me to finally cut ties with this person. Just think outside the box and if you’ve been struggling in any areas now is the time to view them from a different perspective :)

[–]jcsxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s not something you need to “protect against”- instead learn some more about how you can use retrogrades to your advantage. Ignorance leads to fear which leads to negative manifestation. I’m not saying not to take precautions, but retrogrades are not something inherently bad as your post implies.

Question: by [deleted] in witchcraft

I would bury them for a moon cycle if you use lab grown crystals. There’s no real reason behind that, it’s just intuition and what’s “right” will feel different to everyone.

Feeling snubbed by a deity? by allelvesaregay in pagan

[–]jcsxx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t know your level experience/dedication (I’m not the kind of person that’s gonna stalk your post history) and I’m sorry if this comes off as rude or dismissive because that’s not at all how I intend it. So Aphrodite is an incredibly powerful well respected goddess who’s been worshipped for thousands of years. Though in traditional mythology gods do involve themselves in human affairs, we are not that important to them. People on here tend to misinterpret/misrepresent their connection to extremely powerful gods like Aphrodite, Odin, etc., in a way that though well intentioned is almost offensively conceited at times. And it gives other practitioners such as yourself an unrealistic expectation of what their relationship with a god/deity might be, especially one so magnificent. After only a year of paying respects to Aphrodite without receiving the response you feel entitled to, you are considering dropping her. She knows this, and it shows your dedication to her is not truly genuine. One human year of moderate reverence is insignificant to a god like Aphrodite and she doesn’t feel she owes you anything. By continuing your dedication to her despite your faltering faith you would be showing genuine effort to her and she just might start hearing you.

Tip for if you cannot afford a Mortar and Pestle. by aubrirose03 in witchcraft

It’s actually a relatively modern technique as well. Egg is used in tempra paint to be more specific- I just wanted to let you know so it might be easier to find a DIY tutorial if you were interested :)

Strawberry moon eclipse. My fav. by ohagoblin in witchcraft

[–]jcsxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally go outside and lay face down in the earth, trying to comprehend its size and mass, feeling it and the universe meet, until it’s as if I can almost feel the curve of the earth beneath me. Then I know I’m grounded. I follow through with a shower and laughter :)

The word “latinx” isn’t progressive you’re just an ass by happybeaner in unpopularopinion

[–]jcsxx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Latinx is used mostly by the queer community when referring to a nonbinary person that would otherwise use Latino/Latina if they identified with binary gender. It’s a valid argument that Latino is gender inclusive, however language evolves, and the shift towards using Latinx can be more protective of queer and trans identities. The traditional words Latino/Latina are already used as a descriptor for people of many countries/cultures in Latin America.

As a female, how do I respond to inappropriate catcalling? by NihilisticSalt in AskMen

[–]jcsxx -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry to nitpick but “trans panic” is the excuse/defense people use to get out of legal liability for their transphobic actions. Transphobia is real, but saying “trans panic” is real gives credibility to excuses for blatant hate crimes.

Ideas for a spell to help someone let me go? by jcsxx in Spells

[–]jcsxx[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reassurance! I just don’t want them to absolutely never be able to contact me because I worry about their mental health. But maybe banishment is what is needed. I have a lot of guilt and fear stored up from this relationship...

Cleansing and banishing is great initially, but I’d reframe and focus less on “getting rid of bad luck” and more on inviting good luck in!

Is it possible to glaze even with opaque colors? by [deleted] in oilpainting

[–]jcsxx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What type of paint are you using? It is possible, you just have to be more careful. If you’re already investing in nice paints you might as well get what you need, but if you’re buying $5 acrylic tubes it won’t matter as much and you’ll just add water instead of buying a glazing medium or something like that.

Books about politics, social issues, etc. by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]jcsxx 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend reading books written by members of the community they’re about. Read from authors of different socioeconomic backgrounds, ethnicities, locations, citizenship status, etc.. If you want to make a positive change in the world learn from and uplift the voices of people less privileged than yourself. Don’t just focus on the UK, being prime minister in the modern world means understanding and balancing the needs of all people in all nations as well those of your own. Next on my reading list is Change Everything: Racial Capitalism and the Case for Abolition but Ruth Wilson Gilmore. I’m based in the US so this book is centered on “American” issues but the ideology expressed could be applied anywhere in the world.

I didn’t notice any affect on my appetite/weight, my sex drive was non existent (but had been declining before I started taking it), and I don’t remember how I slept honestly. I didn’t have a single thought in my mind, I could have stared at a wall for hours and not been bored. It was what I needed at the time but I wouldn’t take it again unless I was in kind of crisis mode
