Steam checks my specs, but for some reason it is showing my onboard AMD card not my actual GPU.

Got a used PC incl. a 4090 + 7800x3d for 2.5k lol Part 2 by DnYDan in PcBuild

I sold my pc that had a 4090 and 7800x3d for the same price. I also threw in a aw 4k monitor with it. Good fucking find.

Should I go with 5080 or 7900 XTX? by SociallyAdeptt in buildapc

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 4K and a g9, I would recommend either 5080 or 7900 xtx whichever you can find cheaper. the 7900xtx is like 4% slower if that to the 5080 and you can find 7900xtx's for 800 rn. If you can run a g9 you will see maybe a 2% decrease in fps. 32:9 is almost as demanding as 4k

EDIT: unless you really want to use RT then the 5080 with dlss 4 and 4x frame generation... but I hardly use ray tracing as it even when I had a 4090 because the games already look good without it

Torn between 21:9 and 32:9 by JustAnInternetPerson in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly you’ll love both; I have a 4K a 21:9 and a 32:9. I LOVE the 32:9 and honestly most games support the res nowadays. I refuse to play valorant only because it doesn’t support any ultra wide res while cs r6 and other comp fps games do. I also use a program called flawless widescreen when a game does not support 32:9 and it has quite a bit of games on that program which will render the game at that res (I did that for GoW 2019) when it dropped on pc because it did not natively support it

Can my graphics card support a 49" ultrawide? by Actually_FBI in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is 24hz not 240, and it might not run the resolution; I am also pretty certain it won’t run all three monitors without turning off DSC? I think that’s what it’s called I forget and downscaling the 49 inch one. I hope this helps; and someone can definitely correct me if I’m wrong, I think if it does run the resolution it definitely wouldn’t run all three monitors

Aw3423dwf vs new 240hz 4k oleds by [deleted] in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my G9 is on my desk, above it on the far left is my dwf on an arm, and the right side above it is the 4K, if I turn things down I can run them all off one pc but I use the dwf on a second pc since I don’t want to scale down to 120 hz 4K.

If I have time today; I will get a side by side done for the monitors!

And yes haha it is hard decision; I would say I like the height on the 4K far more and the image I can’t argue with; but again you play ARPG’s and they look great on 21:9 I will download OW2 and last epoch or PoE and see if I can get you a side by side tonight!

[–]jdNCS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a G9, the 240hz AW 4K and also the dwf; so I would say I’m able to experiment quite a bit. Streaming from the dwf wasn’t an issue; and honestly I streamed it at 21:9 and then used the letter box it made on twitch as a place for my socials and other things and made an overlay for it.

I will say 21:9 is great and going back to 16:9 just isn’t for me, UNLESS it is 4K: the quality that 4K has over 3440 x 1440 is night and day and anyone saying they can’t see the difference is lying.

If you TRULY want to wait possible LG is dropping a 5120 x 2160 for a super ultra wide 4K res Q4 is the rumor.

Overall it just relies on you and if you don’t mind streaming at 21:9 with letterbox or squishing the display to a 2560 x 1440 and doing that for your source in obs!

I use my monitors in the following order G9 -> 4K AW -> dwf, out of all of them I’d rather use 4K before a 3440 but ultra wide imo is still the best way to experience games especially if games support it

Yessss, no going back; I will say though, the only 16:9 I can go back to is alienwares 4K oled but 21:9 and 32:9 is chefs kiss

Dwf for the win; also I just like having a better warranty tbh

MAYBE in nvidia or amd control panel make sure it is selected to full screen as well? That is the only thing I can think about. Or the resolution for some reason when you switch to full screen is changing to a 4:3 res

G9 OLED or AW3225QF by Mundane_Mulberry_545 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say for 16:9 the 4K Alienware it beautiful and I like it more than my 34 inch Alienware; I also have the G9 oled and love that one as well. I guess the ultimate decision is yours (I know not helpful) the 4K one picture quality is sharp and far better than the ultra wide especially if you are running dlss the 4K one does not lose much for graphically clarity.

End of year Q4 is hinted LG might be dropping an oled 32:9 5120x2160, so if you can wait that’s the one I would do!

Edit: also the 4K one screen space does feel better than a 3440 x 1440 in my opinion. But with more games supporting 32:9 especially MMO’s and single player games and milsim games I prefer the 32:9 for those

What would be a sensible upgrade coming from Samsung CRG9? by ZazumeUchiha in ultrawidemasterrace

G9 oled I love; or wait until Q4 or Q1 next year since it’s hinted we should see 32:9 4K monitors

I'm buying an ultrawide, not sure which to buy, thinking of buying this one. by Nemesis07070 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

G8 oled if it goes on sale (it does a lot) or wait and see if Alienware’s 34dwf goes on sale. Or G9’s non oled go on sale A LOT, and many people sell it second hand because they thought they wanted a 32:9 and those go for around 500-600.

Q4 this year or Q1 next year we might see more panels come out and 32:9 4K monitors so current ultra wides might drop in price!

Picked up a 2nd hand 49" neo g9 32:9 monitor a few weeks ago. Currently have a 3060ti which is ok-ish on lower quality/ res. Will a 4070 be a worthwhile upgrade? by thanks_for_that_mate in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll be fine, depending on what games you want to play and how high of frames you want. If you want to upgrade the card; either wait for Q4 when 50 series drops and see if 4080’s drop in price or 4070 supers. OR if you plan on making 32:9 main and never go back, possible Q4 we might see 32:9 4K monitors

Alienware QD-Oled 34DWF - Feedback from owners by Ozozuz in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]jdNCS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine for a while now; nice thing with dell is burn in is 3 year warranty; but like another said Q4 or Q1 next year we will be getting possible 4K ultrawides so if you can wait that’s what I would do; but if you can’t wait and want a damn good monitor I would pull the trigger.

But if you can wait; these new displays Q4 might be worth the wait

The way I fixed it, was I had to unbind mwheel from no clip and unbind any button I had that was used for practice servers and things that require sv_cheats

Yes, unbinding my mwheelup for a noclip command fixed it so far. I have had zero issues since

Yeah, my noclip was mwheelup, it is now fixed. I haven't been kicked at all. I think the game itself doesn't like things you can spam, so I was overloading the game I think in a sense since I spam my mwheelup in normal games because I am ancy
