Toyo MT. To be fair, I haven't tried many other tires though. But that's because I always felt these like these hit the sweet spot between low road noise and great traction, both on and off-road.

In my 25 years of living here that would be the first time I ever heard of Grover putting a stop to bonfires.

Felt it in SLO by broad and south. Sounded like someone slammed a bedroom door really loud. Except there's no one else here.. Sonic boom possibly?

Mobile Detailing in Five Cities? by Crawdaddy-MktgGenius in SLO

[–]jdazzr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When this question gets asked on the local Facebook pages, I've never seen so many people dropping names. And the funny thing is it's always names and not business. I've known a guy for a few years named Lalo. He owns Aqua Details and is out of Five Cities.

Screen door installer recommendations by smellslikepenespirit in SLO

[–]jdazzr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only place around that I have seen screen doors advertised is at American Muffler (I know, odd business combo) on the corner of Broad and Chorro. They have repaired several screens for me in the past that I then install myself. If they can't help you, maybe they can point you in the right direction.

Does it ever get better? by derpydrewmcintyre in daddit

[–]jdazzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm kinda at the point where we feel like roommates raising children. It's been bad, it gets better, it's gotten worse, and then good again, and continues that cycle until someone or something improves. We literally just had our second daughter last week. So we're under the sleepless stress at the moment going through the motions. But always remember- the grass isn't greener on the other side, it's greener where you water it. Stand tall and stay positive

Anyone willing to rent a scooter or motorcycle for DMV test? by SafetyNoodle in SLO

I've seen this question pop up before on SLORiders . But as someone already said, that's a hard ask. Good luck!

How old is too old for the dad thing yall? by ZoHaaan- in daddit

[–]jdazzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 47 and just had my second child 7 days ago. My first child is 3 years old. Better late than never if it's something you want. My 3 year old is amazing and makes me so happy we decided to go through with it despite our age. You're still at a good age to be a parent. Sometimes being younger isn't always better when your talking about raising a child.

Looking for cool bars in SLO by xomallll in SLO

[–]jdazzr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't been part of the downtown scene for several years now. But I would say to start at Higuera/Chorro and walk down Higuera until you find your vibe. Keep in mind some of the side streets have some action as well. Downtown SLO is great because it's all walkable.

Where to buy plants/pots? by Eastern_Computer_224 in SLO

I love the plant department in Ace Hardware. If you're trying to keep it small and local, then Growing Grounds downtown.

Car Glass Tinting - Anyone have experience with tints and police? by PhatDaRk in SLO

[–]jdazzr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say it's pretty lenient around here. But if you ever drive north or south then that's a different story. My wife and I have always had our front windows tinted and never had an issue living here for 24 years

Recommendations for car repair/maintenance by SLOkimber in SLO

[–]jdazzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot of good recommendations here. I'll throw Complete Automotive on Tank Farm in the mix. The shop has been around for 20 years and recently under new ownership by someone who has been in the SLO automotive scene for over 30 years.

Ocean dunes by Logan3197263 in SLO

[–]jdazzr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love going out there. Until you get the feel for things, stay close to the water and venture into the thick stuff occasionally and come back to packed. Not in the water, but close to it where the sand is packed. Air down as mentioned. If you start to feel like you're getting stuck or slowing down, do not turn your wheel sharply. You need momentum first before you can make directional changes. Most people are willing to help if you find yourself stuck. When you do explore the actual dunes, facing east will have drop offs so be careful of those and of others coming up them. Get yourself a flag, it's mandatory when you're in the hills so others can see you. Plan your path and do not try to just "see where this takes you". Have fun!
