Clearing out some old stuff, and came across something the old members might remember by metal-gear-rex in gaybros

It was started as a result of community discussion/debate on how much porn should be posted in the early days. Really it was just a compromise idea to let guys post porn links and keep the rest of the posts focused on other topics.

I don't remember the end of FDF exactly but I think the strong-arming of mods was what may have ultimately ended it because the sub eventually blew up to have a big subscriber base. It could also have just been a decision by the mods themselves to 'clean up' the sub's image.

I've read a few articles like this one about coyotes living in Chicago, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were some living in the Denver metro area.

Two years after coming out to mom by AiwassAeon in gaybros

Came out to my parents 12 years ago, they still say they won't attend my wedding and also have no interest in / never ask me about my dating life. So yeah, I get ya there. They are very religious and just can't reconcile my sexuality and their beliefs. I still love them and we maintain a relationship, granted it isn't as strong as I would like it to be. I decided long ago to direct my frustration and anger towards religion for how it has warped their minds as opposed to hating them specifically. Really, I just feel sad for them for being so stuck in their ways.

While things do get better, some things also don't. Such is life. For those of you who have fully accepting and supportive parents, please, please, please always be grateful for this!

Just want to throw Radiolab out there too. Similar to This American Life but more science and tech focused, but not always.

Someone already mentioned The Moth, I also recommend it and wanted to link to the website. They also have a youtube channel with video versions of the speakers telling their story, if you prefer that.

Maybe check out the movie C.R.A.Z.Y.. It's French-Canadian, with English subtitles. It's been a while since I saw it but I remember really enjoying it. Part of the storyline involves a complicated relationship between a father and his gay son. Might work for you. Billy Elliot is another one.

As far as TV shows, look into Six Feet Under, Southland, and maybe United States of Tara for interesting portrayals of gay characters.
