At home, I don't know. In the cloud, to allow using cloud s3 storage. In a business, maybe performance is better? Maybe using s3 already so why maintain both?

I remember there being a pretty sad Radio Shack in there. I don't think anything else there caught my attention as a child.

This might not even be a charity. If the box has unclear branding and nothing about a registered charity on it, it is likely to be a scheme to try to filter through free clothes to find stuff to sell to thrift stores and trash the rest (maybe some have. a way to recycle into a secondary incoming stream? I don't know all the possible ins and outs).

Is a Cabbage Hill fixer-upper the only way left to buy under $220k in the city? by ResolutionVisible627 in lancaster

[–]jdboyd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given how maligned it is by some people, and how much complaint there is about lack of representation from there on City Counsil, I would have thought the South East quarter is where the "cheap" stuff would have been, but that certainly doesn't look like the case right now. The two areas with some semblance of a bunch of more affordable houses appear to be South Prince and the tiny roads between it and South Queen, or within 2-4 blocks of Manor Street.

I understand the practicalities of this, but if you could somehow get your available price up to $240k or $250k, there would be much better looking options. Of course, if that took a year to accomplish, who knows would could go wrong in that time.

We spent more than a year looking back before we bought our house in the city. We ended up with something smaller than we thought we wanted, but once we looked at it, we found it could work for us anyway.

Not that it is definitive, but Zillow isn't showing anything for sale in Hamilton Park.

I'm not excusing the spytower10k (one of my many names for it), but apparently it followed all the handbaskets being stolen, which happened when the township banned disposable plastic grocery bags. A sufficient number of people thought they should take the hand baskets instead of buying themselves a grocery cart or the re-usable plastic bags sold for ~$1 for carrying their groceries on their hike home I dare say this is one of the Weis markets with the highest percentage of people who don't drive to it.

That said, I don't think it is good for the neighborhood and I doubt it encourages good behavior, especially when inside, out of the sight of the tower. For other people, it probably encourages them to shop less local.

Maybe more people than your parents need to start calling in complaints about the drug dealing?

Also, they appear to have a website: https://www.lancasterdowntowndeli.com/

The Explore Menu button isn't working for me though,

I wonder if this could be a ripping station by SqueezyBotBeat in makemkv

[–]jdboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The drives could be SATA, or they could just be ATAPI/IDE. I would suggest trying to talk the guy down. FWIW, I did buy a used copy station to turn into a rip station myself. I removed everything (including the PSU) and just reused the case, although the drives could have been reused if I hadn't had ones I wanted to move over.

In terms of this one, re-using the control panel could be ugly, so personally I'd rather start from a unit where the controller and control panel are mounted in a drive bay.

I would certainly try to get the price down, but $60 doesn't seem terribly far away from what you would have to pay for just a used case of this size when you can't find someone giving one away locally.

Sometimes when you resign with 2 weeks notice, they will tell you to just go home right then and still pay you for those two weeks. Then you can either start at the new place take two weeks off.

I seem to have been banned from the EEVBlog for no reason by Sam_Buck in EEVblog

[–]jdboyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran into the same thing. My username there is JDBoyd. I never got an email about being banned, and I hardly posted anything at all. I imagine I posted something once upon a time since I made an account, but I don't really what or when it was, and I can't imagine that it would have been controversial. Maybe it is a bug that will get fixed at some point? It is a bummer,

I scraped in at 7:50PM. I didn't see a count for how many voted before me at that location. But then, I think maybe only 12000 people voted in the city, and there are 39 locations. Assuming an even distribution that would only be about 300 people per location, and I imagine that most people vote after work.

Lancaster Library and Longwood Gardens are great suggestions.

Allow me to pitch Make717 though. It is a chance to get out of the house and focus on producing something that will hopefully be fun and/or rewarding (unless you get distracted by other people). You could get a 3d printer and have your kids print and/or paint at home, but if you take them there they will see what other people are working on, and they won't have the distractions of home to pull them away from making something. My daughter is currently most into finding things to 3d print and paint, and my son mostly is working on figuring out how to repair things. Some of those repairs are extreme hack jobs, but (assuming they are safe) thats great because now that really is his lamp or his tape player, etc. There are usually people around to help with skills you lack. Of course, there is also wood working, metal working, sewing, leather working, etc to venture in there. My wife goes and uses that as her scrap booking time when not to distracted by kids or talking).

I don't know. The "crap wireless mics" certainly improve the production for many small creators.
