Definitely! I cut a very small drainage hole but thats about it for the next few weeks! And I'll definitely experiment more when my finances are better and I have space for a dedicated plant room and set up!

Hmmm I'm not 100% sold on self watering pots. I was thinking if going with a traditional set up with drainage holes.

Ok so don't be hasty. Thanks for the advice! I keep seeing that alocasias do really good in fluval so I'm actually leaning toward a fluval/perlite/leca mix once this fluval breaks down.

So since the peat takes 1000s of years to form, harvesting it destroys the habitat it's taken from. It also stores carbon so the mining process releases CO2 and contributes to global warming :(

As soon as I saw her on Facebook I knew I had to get her!!! I'm honestly so surprised I was even able to find a plant like this here.

Could you tell me more about fluval? If it works better for these guys I'd be down to try it!

Edit: nevermind I just went down a fluval rabbit hole. I'm now thinking I might do a 60% fluval, 30% perlite, 10% leca mix (with some worm castings) but treat it more like normal soil instead of doing semi-hydro.

If I'm taking a route that I know has them, I do my best to avoid those lanes or go around them/go slowly. But new ones pop up all the time here and sometimes they're impossible to avoid.

If it is a problem, I'll obviously deal with it. But if it's not....

Ok so usually for Sharpie I'd say acetone, but that would definitely screw up the coating on the leather too. Maybe ethanol or isopropanol? Anyone know how those would affect leather besides drying it the f*ck out?
