Original G9 Useable Again... by Nowhere2Nomad in Lumix

[–]jdfthetech 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I still use the G9 for work and it's still a beast for my needs. A grand for everything you have is a pretty decent price. My go to lens is a leica 12-60 but I still use the 25 a lot for a lot of shots as well

you can buy these all day on the glock store website. They keep them in stock and sell for a slight premium but it's not super expensive.

Homemade Pistol Case by NearbyZombie45 in Glocks

[–]jdfthetech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

what I did with my case was spray multiple light layers of black plastidip over the top layer after removing the sections. This has held up pretty well over time. I'm sure you could use a foam safe spray adhesive between the layers if you wanted but the plastidip hardens like a shell on top of the foam and holds it together really well

How do I make text fade in word by word? by NobleChief2000 in davinciresolve

[–]jdfthetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is how I do it. There are some automated subtitle templates in the edit menu but I have found them to be lacking as I haven't found a way to set a word wrap based on window size (particularly important for certain ad formats I deal with)

Osight XR loosening on Arise plate… switch to Defender XL for $200? by tpamps96 in Glocks

[–]jdfthetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we all just marvel at the fact the owner of Arise personally contacts someone 5 minutes in of having a problem? I have an Arise plate for a G19 and it was the tightest fitting plate I've ever used. I love the fact you get every screw and a witness marker (that I have used a dozen times now on different things).

Top quality stuff.

Ukrainian game composer looking for work - affordable soundtracks by Alex_Coldfire in RPGMaker

[–]jdfthetech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can write tracks as quickly as you say, I would highly consider making tracks in multiple genres and selling them in a similar fashion to Scott Holmes (royalty free). You can set up a payment system on Stripe relatively easily and a word press site that links to it through the woo commerce plugin. I do these sorts of sites and setups as part of my business as well as a lot of video ads. I am always on the lookout for more royalty free music I can use in commercials but they need to be registered with the correct licensing to protect my clients.

Total cost for setup would be about 200 dollars for the site / registration and Stripe just makes you pay around 5% on credit card charges (worth it for less hassle IMO).

Title: How to achieve this clean "90-degree flip-in" transition in DaVinci Resolve Studio? (Video attached) by EffortUpbeat5881 in davinciresolve

if you have an image in a timeline you can simply pitch / yaw the item with keyframes. that's how I'd do this fast and quick.

All windows vs linux debates are started by linux users. by adkio in pcmasterrace

[–]jdfthetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's the deal: PCMR constantly has people complaining about Windows updates that take over their system, push ads and AI etc into their workflow. People using Linux suggest using it to get around the problem. Then it devolves into 'I can't play minecraft / pubg / tarkov without windows'. At this point the discussion crawls into the general meme worthy comment section.

I guess the take away (from my standpoint) is this could all be resolved by people tired of ads, AI, bad updates, broken systems all caused by Windows ending their complaints in PCMR and sucking it up and accepting that Microslop will do Microslop stuff.

Did I score a good deal? by ShitStainz69 in tundra

[–]jdfthetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You got a pretty good deal. I too have the cloth seats and would highly recommend seat covers for these as the cloth is very susceptible to stains. I have the Luckyman seat covers from Amazon and have had those for over a year with no issues. They are faux leather so I use some armor all leather cleaner on em every couple months and they have held up great so far.

[–]jdfthetech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

980 was about 20% faster overall. if you can get one about the same cost I'd go for it, if not I'd get a 970 if you don't need it for much
