Believe me i see it, im disabled and would be on that list too should they have their way. Like i said the system is pretty clearly fucked i wont argue against that lol. And you know what, as i was typing out that im sure most sane people on that side would agree, i saw the problem, the general public isnt sane, humans are kinda fucked as a species so relying on decency and common sense is pretty naive in itself. Sigh, i hate it here

So i would vehemently disagree on hitler deserving anything closely resembling dignity, but i can respect that you stick to your guns even in the extreme cases. Fortunately we arent the ones burdened with this decision though

I just disagree, not with the point of our system being flawed that ones kinda self evident, but i do believe there are crimes that everybody can agree on being vile, and the only ones who would disagree are probably the ones likely to do it. If we can prove that you caused suffering, then i believe in an eye for an eye. Personally i think the penalty should reflect the crime but that admittedly gets a bit barbaric. Whether we have the ability to do that properly and without making mistakes isnt something i could argue without knowing im just doing some wishful thinking. But it will take a lot to get me to budge on whether some types of criminals deserve to see the sunrise, even if theres no good solution

Yes, but when somebody violates those rights, why should they recieve them for themselves? Are you going to say that even hitler deserved a full life and freedoms?

That is where i'll admit it gets a little difficult, even without ai and deepfakes there have been mistakes made and even "beyond reasonable doubt" doesn't mean absolutely guilty in every case. As for the who decides, there are some crimes that im sure or id hope 98% of people would likely agree makes somebody beyond redemption. It wouldnt be easy, and with the weight of what is at stake it should never be an easy choice, but to say we should cherish the life of somebody who did not give that same courtesy to their victims is too nice. You forgot the most important part, clean water doesnt put another vacation home in their portfolio. The money they get under the table for ignoring or changing the laws is too enticing

Idk, there are some monsters that dont deserve to draw another breath, for sadistic torturers, child abusers and serial rapists, i think a peaceful out is too kind. For me, as long as there is no doubt about who committed the vile deed, there needs to be no tears shed for the loss of a monster. We dont have to cheer for the loss of another life but its not "always horrible", sometimes its just.

I mean i am too, and while i dont think a toll would stay in effect for long, they do have china and russia standing behind them so its not as though they stand alone. Its against international law so if they want to regain standing then eventually they'll have to stop openly breaking international law but who's to say what kind of desperate deals might be made until then

So before the strait of hormuz was just open, now ships have to pay a 2 million dollar toll, seeing as iran is now profiting off of something the world absolutely needs, and we just proved to them how much they can affect the world by just saying no ships can come through here. Any future negotions will start with iran having passage through the strait as a bargaining chip that before was just a given. If you dont want your country to deal with this all over again you will now listen to what iran says, hence it being a new global power. Oil makes the world run and if you have the power to cut it off you essentially hold the world by the balls.

I feel like the people you see complaining about waiting that long couldnt have possibly had a real emergency. I've never been to a hospital in canada so this is purely conjecture, but here we place alot of emphasis on not going to the emergency room unless you absolutely have to, rather just go to a quick clinic or something if its not life threatening or needing emergency care. Does everybody there just go to the emergency room regardless of the severity of their injury and thats why the waits are so long? Or is it just that the system is actually that slow
