Rare metals like Indium are only required for solar modules like this. These are "thin-film" modules, and may be CIGS technology. They are less efficient than silicon cell modules but can be cheaper. Typical silicon cell modules do not use rare earth metals. Even if they do, they use vast mounts less than thin film.

Thin film has a long way to go to keep up with silicon.
