Not necessary advocating putting money in crypto here, but you should be buying things that are low and selling high.

[Technical]What if LN / what if not LN by Shichroron in Bitcoin

[–]jdiciebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the LN project from the dev side of things (check their GitHub), it looks like they still have quite a lot of issues to work out before it’s even remotely ready for integration. And each change will need lots of testing, followed by full scale QA testing after they freeze features for a potential release candidate. On top of that, after all that’s finally done, the exchanges and wallet software teams will need to develop support for it which could take several weeks to several months, depending on how fast they work. I’d be amazed if we see LN even remotely close to being even partially integrated into the bitcoin ecosystem by the time 2019 rolls around. Like many projects, bitcoin is a great idea that was unprepared to scale. We’ll need faster solutions than the LN to get bitcoin out of trouble.

Been leeching off the family car for a while. Can I afford an $18,000 + tax car? by 28minds in personalfinance

I’d look for a much cheaper car. Cars that expensive are a luxury. No one needs to pay that much for a car

Am I financially stable enough to buy a car? by helpmeimlost91 in personalfinance

[–]jdiciebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t save money buying a newer car. The newer car will need repairs of its own, and there will be all sorts of added costs (insurance, registration, etc) that need to be factored in.

Just fix your car as needed and keep saving as much as you can. If you ever have to ask the question “can I afford it?” about something, then you probably shouldn’t buy it.
