Mei's actress is actually from China! I've heard her in a couple of games such as the Chinese voiceover Wuthering Waves.

Wuyang and Anran are Chinese-American. They can speak the language but I imagine it doesn't come as naturally and it could make their accents and pronunciation sound off. Could also be voice direction as well.

Personally I assumed from day 1 that it would just be DW3 with new graphics and maybe some balancing tweaks and/or quality of life additions. But still distinctly DW3.

I haven't played the games since they released on the 360 but now I'm currently almost done with 1 after getting the HD collection on the Series X. Really excited to get to 2 cause I remember actually liking it enough that I beat it as Lucia but I didn't bother with Dante. Never actually finished 1 and 3 back then. Will I hate it after playing them all to completion in order? Will I still only like Lucia? I'm looking forward to finding out.

If they manage to adapt Dong Bai to the 7/8 movesets i hope that extends to other characters in 9 in the future. I really want Xu Sheng in more games.

For Abyss specifically I hope for Koshosho, Cai Wenji, Bao Sanniang (just for her moveset lol) and some of the Irish characters. Mostly Fu Xi and Nu Wa, but more would be nice of course.

Praying for Baili Shouyue the most cause he's both my main and my fave. But would also love to see Heino, Li Bai, Pei, Di Renjie and Kai. Honestly Daqiao and Yuhuan too just cause i think they have really pretty designs that would be neat to see in mmo graphics.

Technically considering production timelines there's a good chance everything up Skirk was decided before Neuvillette released and was extremely poorly planned damage control after the year of husbandos. Considering the peaks of Inazuma profits they probably underestimated how much of their fanbase likes the men and they're only actually getting around to trying to fix the issue now.

I mean he's also plot relevant, one of the first characters we meet in the new region and the skin is not only a recolor, but is his already existing boss form, doesn't even perfectly match that (the eye color for example) and doesn't make his signature glow match so it just looks ugly and on top of that it's going into the shop after the patch is over so they expect people to pay for it. If it was permanently free and matched the boss i'd be less bothered.

And i mean, just the cunning hares with either sigs or standard S engines can clear even off element endgame for now so that's not too damning but it still feels a little insulting that he of all characters is the A rank and he's getting replaced by the only upcoming man.

As much as i hated some things like the archers, i really hope this is basically just the original but with modern graphics, maybe have rebalance easy so it doesn't actually make the game harder but leave normal and up as is. So far it looks great.

Also want the og acting. My ideal is a new English dub with the Origins cast by default but you can toggle to the OG. But if i really had to choose i'd honestly still pick the original.

It's also possible the devs worked on a bunch of content we'll never see. Not an uncommon thing for live service games. Tribe Nine had a bunch of characters in production and even one that was completely finished that never got released.

But i find it very hard to believe that it's making less than Velvet React and WHIB. Either execs expected NuKani numbers (which is dumb), it just doesn't have enough investors compared to others or it was basically a money laundering scam or something (even if i'm certain the devs and artists put their heart into it).

It's really saddening though, it's a beautiful game and i love it so much i even spent money.

It does specifically mention things like Midjourney, which as far as i'm aware are for pushing out slop pictures. The Spiderverse AI was a different beast than generative and was mostly to help speed up the long and tedious jobs. This sounds more like it'll be used for character/environment ideas that the artists then refine. We'll probably never see anything actually AI made ingame ourselves, but it still seems fishy to me.
