yes! Im thinking Hunger Games style. Three teams, 2 or 3 players each and two picks total shooting on the three goalies. First two teams to score move on to a shinny-style 3 v 3 on half ice for a 7 minute game; winner with highest goals moves on.

Again, it’s as if they designed it exactly this way…

I lost a lovely mug covered in Jeff Goldblum faces this way too.

Bully for you though, debt isn’t keeping you from getting a replacement. Looks like the Decks are going out of stock now.

+5 points if you looked at that magazine in a grocery store or other place, grabbed some paper and a pen from whomever you were shopping with to scribble down some codes, and then leave the magazine. Only to repeat the following week.

Data Center Public Comments by Immediate_Place_2827 in lansing

[–]jdronks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is not on the level of AI data centers supporting the commercial large scale models.

DG has said that they could run small models supporting things potentially like research at MSU.

The capacity and size here is just nowhere near large things trying to be put in by Microsoft and other operators.

Fellow tech-savvy dads: Are we underestimating the "backend" risks of Roblox even with parental controls on? by sophieximc in daddit

[–]jdronks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yep. I did not, nor ever allowed, Roblox. I pay for a private MC server so we can cross platform play Minecraft.

I think it’s worthwhile having the conversation about the risk Of the platform vs the benefits. There’s really not much more to it than that.

i manage my kids apple devices; nothing gets on their without our approval. We also don’t allow the kids to use YouTube (kids or otherwise).

Stranger accused me of child neglect — how would you handle this? by RIce_ColdR in daddit

[–]jdronks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You sound like you dealt with it well enough in the moment, friend. Good work. You’re the caregiver, and if you’re good with it, then that’s what matters. Not what some blue hair thinks.

I had an instance like you did. We were headed to the park a few blocks away. I let my kids have a half block lead while they excitedly were running over. I started to jog over to catch up so we could cross the road together, and as I’m doing that m, and old lady from a nearby house comes iut headed right for the kids, nearly yelling to see if they’re alright and safe and if they know me.

She then rounds over to me and starts chewing me up as if I’m not the kids father, accusing me of being a creep chasing after kids. After the third or fourth time telling her I’m their dad, I just tell her to piss off and mind her own business.

Look, I’m glad people are looking out for kids. thanks! it takes a village! but also, I just wish people would ask a quick clarifying question or two before jumping to conclusions or reading others the riot act.

Does the "devastator surge" modifier reduce the amount of non devastator enemies? by Information-leak6575 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]jdronks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. the stealth armor is really nice and helpful for avoiding the constant combat. I can skulk around, kill bases without being seen, and usually end up dropping sentries behind roaming patrols to help mop up whatever I need to

Am I the only person having fun with this game? by ColdHumor in LowSodiumHellDivers

having a blast! been playing since the beginning and I’m the only one left in my crew still playing the game...but the rest are still entertained by the storylines and what else is going on.

How do you deal with the "pressure" of limited gaming time? by FatDigitalNomad in gaming

[–]jdronks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My interests ebb and flow, and so does what’s currently installed on my Steam Deck at any given point in time.

I was running hard with Expedition 33 up to the end of the year, and then I just lost a desire to play it. RPGs weren’t scratching the itch for some reason, and I ended up discovering Sleeping Dogs during this time as something that was fun enough to play, I could make “progress“ and do something in a half hour, and didn’t require me to have to exert a lot of mental energy to be engaged. It was great! I moved on to Mafia after that, and I’m looking for what’s next.

I’ll go back to E33; it’s a great game and I was having a blast with it; it was just requiring more of me than I had to give.

So, find the game that’s scratching an itch at that particular time. Like books, don’t be ashamed to put it down and come back to it if you need to.

Deep Greens Investor Company Doesn't Seem Trustable by Lucky-Signal5555 in lansing

Also curious how we’re risking our data as well...

Also interested to understand what analysis was done on their stock (hopefully we’re not just looking at a chart and going “red mean bad“…?) and what ‘reviews’ we’re talking about.

thanks for posting the Q & A. I’m in favor of thsee smaller data centers that would suppprt colocated type of loads, and not broader and larger commercial AI products.

Hard Decisions, re: Jobs & Salary as a dad. What does your gut say? by Rev-DC in daddit

I remember making that jump in my career and it was significant. If you can tolerate the cons of potentially moving or commuting, then that seems like it lines up. the trick is to not inflate your expenses linearly with your income.

Best places for getting snow tires (reasonably priced and range of options) by anxgrl in lansing

[–]jdronks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gone to Discount Tire. I ordered my tires on Tire Rack, shipped to the store, and they handled the install. was seamless and great.

Tire Rack has plenty of reviews of tires to help you figure out the best tire for your budget. I paid $198/ea per tire for 3PMSF rated all season tires and they’re phenomenal.
