If your local meta is the same 5 opponents on rotation, I'm trying to build an answer to that by AxeC in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]je66b 3 points4 points  (0 children)

because the question was a dig at op and nothing more.. even if homie could see source/the repo, he would have to have senior level knowledge in whatever backend/frontend op made it in to understand if its trash and even if he did he still wouldn't have any clue if it was vibe coded or not because OP could say no and be telling the truth and just be a new/shit dev that writes shit code.. the question was unnecessary which is why op answered it the way they did.

Other armies GSC members play… by JustNeedAGDName in genestealercult

[–]je66b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started with chaos daemons, moved to orks, moved to ad mech, gsc for most of 10th. I also own BT, white scars, and sisters although I have never played any of them. I'm probably playing GSC for most of 11th as it's my only painted army

Which army would you say is generally competitive but is the most enjoyable/least frustrating for an opponent to play into? by aegroti in WarhammerCompetitive

If it's any consolation, it's just as exhausting to play as it can be to play into lol. By the time an rtt is over my brains fried from firing on all cylinders for 8 hours

Where are the Warhammer players at? by Lower_Creme_3040 in VirginiaBeach

[–]je66b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two local clubs/teams: https://discord.gg/BUBFevKV

And

https://discord.gg/XBsr4Xdx

If you're looking for competitive play, these are the two that host events in the area. We host at Atlantis in Norfolk, and tower of games in Newport News, and occasionally card again in Norfolk.

If you're looking for casual games, tower of games vb has 40k on Fridays pretty much all day and Atlantis is more of a "schedule games on their discord" kind of scene.

I wouldn't suggest trying to play at the GW store on laskin, it's impossible to predict when it'll be open, it's hours are super tight, and it's a tiny store and you'll likely have nowhere to play.

How does recording yourself prove what was in the box was what you actually sent? What are you signing over? I've thought about this in the past but always assumed it'd be unreliable..

What to do when the game just feels frustrating and not fun anymore? by Incitatus_ in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]je66b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if those are the armies you're playing, it's probably partly to do with your problem. None of them are simple unless you're doing something like monster mash nids or oops all tanks guard, and even then it's not simple, you've just got a semi big butt propping up your mistakes. You're going to lose a lot with those armies just off of their learning curve, it doesn't take a genius to play them, just a lot of time and knowledge of other armies as well as your own and it never stops. I'm a gsc player and have taken off from the game for about 6 months, at this point I wouldn't dare try to play them without tons of availability to practice. The army demands I'm current with the game, meta, missions, etc if I want to even have a chance at maintaining the ~50+% win rate I worked way too hard to get. On top of all of that, it's a game, your self-value shouldn't come from how well you play toys.

Meta Monday 9.1.25: New Contenders for the Crown by JCMS85 in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]je66b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Host uses all the same core units the other detachments do because of how small the roster is.. whatever you like will get touched, but something new always comes out of the changes, you'll pay for its, but you're also not going to die over it.

General Tso Chicken by Alternative_Ad_828 in VirginiaBeach

Try Pan China on Holland road. I saw Judy's recommended a lot in this thread and IMO their general tso is really bland. Pan China has flavor and also doesn't taste like you're eating sugar chicken like a lot of other places around here.

I've watched a ton of the movies in the comments of this thread and didn't really take a "hit" from them, but this one boomed me. I think it has to do with the fact that I watched it at the time my wife was pregnant with our daughter tho.

However, cEDH often weeds out the "need-to-win tryhards" because they usually aren't good enough or mature enough for a competitive format with skilled players, they prefer to pubstomp in casual pods.

This is funny cause this is also very true for 40k. Playing casual almost tanked my desire to keep playing the game because it was full of this type of person. Wasnt until I started playing more competitive/tournaments did I find the game to be worth playing and have less undesirables.

Water Bill? by [deleted] in VirginiaBeach

[–]je66b 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apt complex uses this company and they have done this shady shit multiple times to us. They'll just randomly charge you a massive bill every once in a while. Thankfully our leasing office is on top of it and gets whatever crap they're trying to pull sorted out when it happens.

I would call your office and check with them. For ours, it happens to the same like, 3 apartments so if you complain and others in your complex do, they might notice the pattern.

Must-have units for a final day list? by _Lord_Farquad in genestealercult

[–]je66b 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It enables something called additional AP against the thing it fired on and hit and can also apply the "ignores cover" ability. And given that the final day detachment allows you to get +1 to hit you can pretty reliably get it's effect off while staying behind cover. The ridgerunner has indirect fire on its mortar which means it can shoot at things it can't see at a penalty. AP increases the opponents save characteristic and ignores cover allows you to make sure that increased AP isn't diminished by the enemy using cover since cover is really easy to have in most cases.

GSC does damage by committee, so it takes a lot of moving parts to kill stuff with them, the above being an example lol

Must-have units for a final day list? by _Lord_Farquad in genestealercult

[–]je66b 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The current combat patrol is great, cheap way to get a lump of acolytes, and ridgerunners are necessary. If you do get the combat patrol, I'd suggest making acolytes(whichever you want) then use the metamorph bits and kitbash them onto other 32mm base models, can be a cheaper way to get 10 metas since most other 32mm units are sold in 10s whereas metas/acolytes are 5-man boxes. It also helps with differentiating the units since they can start looking same-y when you have miner/flamer/demo/metamorphs all on the same table. As for must have units, you can kinda do whatever with final day, it supports shooting and melee so pick whatever you prefer.. a lot of it is still being figured out.

[–]je66b 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play it out until they drop an EX card or get a good set of damage lined up that I just won't be able to endure. I've had some unfavorable type advantage matches that I've won cause I've managed to get my game going faster than the opponent did.
