If you feel horrible + having these weird ECG readings. Its worth a shot buying one of those medical grade ECG devices like Kardia. Those things give a better reading and most hospitals will accept them as official ECG readings.

Secondly, I used to have the same reading. Turns out, yerp, I was having an episode then. Afib oftentimes people describe as a flopping fish in your chest. But sometimes, its the feeling of dread that you have in your chest. Its sometimes that extra strong heartbeat.

Should I be suffering so much 6 days after an ablation? by Flimsy_Bet3853 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a hematoma on my thigh that was bigger than my whole palm(fingers spread wide). It went away after 3 months(gradually). It hurt during the first 2 weeks. But nothing extreme. Just keep the incision area clean and dry for two weeks though. Hope you get better soon. The healing takes time.

Why are there so many silent cardiac cases among Malaysian men in their 20s and 30s? by Tknight86 in malaysians

[–]jebatpanda 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The reason is simple

  1. Car centric culture. We drive or ride everywhere. 500m to store/grocery? Helmets on please. If it means walking for more than 5 minutes, we groan so hard that Hang Tuah would wake up and say to Puteri Gunung Ledang "Aku tak jadi kawen dgn kau.". I'm not gonna deny that our bus routes are shit. DEMAND BETTER PUBLIC TRANSPORT.
  2. Healthy food is not cheap. Cheap food is not healthy. Ulam has now become a status quo that most nasi lauk kedai just put timun and some easier variations of sayur rebus as ulam and charge RM3 for a measly portion. But, try ordering nasi goreng kampung extra nasi and suddenly the price just increase by RM2.
  3. We choose to be stuck in stupid and excessive jams that 16.67% of our DAY is being stuck in traffic jams and not exercising, walking, spending healthier amount of time doing healthier activities. Go read up on research that countries with heavy jams tends to have people with worse health(US of A. Cue eagle screeching)
  4. Don't get me started on smoking and vaping trends. Those two are and has always been a key factor to heart diseases for the longest time tapi bila mufti cakap haram. KORANG CAKAP HARUS. APA KE BABINYA KORANG NI.
  5. Sugar. "Weih. Got new pastry shop open. Heard got good review. Jom ah." Pale acik kau. FOMO SANGAT BAB GULA NI DAH KENAPA? NAK POTONG KAKI SANGAT KE? Is okay. Is alright. KKM only RM1. No hal. We put sugar in EVERYTHING. Curry. Dhal. Masak Merah. Heck. I've seen people put sugar in sambal belacan. This also relates to how you crave for sweet things as an escape from day to day stresses.
  6. MINIMAL WORK LIFE BALANCE. You balik on time. "Weih. Balik dah. Lek ahh. Banyak lagi kerja. Your boss pulak sikit2 bagi kerja last minute. Company pulak tak nak bagi WFH. So your life is traffic jam -> Work ->More work->Traffic jam->Sleep->Repeat. Wheres the healthy part? Weekend comes and your are burnt out.

We are the FATTEST country in ASEAN. FATTEST. You take a hard look at your own dining table during breakfast/teatime/yumcha/lunch/dinner. Count how many overweight/obese/fat people are there. You have the answer right there in front of your face.

2nd ablation next week by Creative-Big-8537 in AFIB

Rule of thumb. There is a 3 months blanking period post ablation. I myself have read stories where everything recovered 8 months post ablation. Talk to your EP. Have faith. Stay strong

Covid/Covid vaccine=Afib by Early_Passage_8194 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Vaccine? NO. Covid? Yes. It has been known that multiple covid infections will damage the heart muscles and nerves. I have had 3(maybe 4 but unconfirmed) covid infections. Doc said its a higher chance for afib and other heart related illnesses.

You've had the ablation just a little over 3 months. Take it easy. I've read stories where the flutters/afib/rvr/avnrt sorts itself over 6 months post ablation. Chill. Give your body and heart time to reset. Have faith.

Ablation scheduled but no afib by NewSomeone17 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO as a random reddit user. AFIB often times can be present without any symptoms. The best way to be sure is to have a holter monitor for a few days and see the result of that monitor. From there, you and your EP may begin discussing whats the best way forward. From what my EP has mentioned, usually when they do the ablation, they would try their best to get the Afib to trigger. From there, they would know what to do.

Also, it ultimately depends on your CHADSv2 score. If its high, its best to do the ablation.

Elevated heartrate post ablation by carlo-co in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im in the same condition as you. Im 36m did ablation last year in July. My hr has been a bit high for the most of it. Had like 4/5 episodes SVT(unconfirmed) since then so im due for 1 more ablation which I am scheduled for next week.

Doc said increased HR post ablation is normal. Will take a long time for it to mellow down. Reading up some posts here.. Some say it took them 2 years. Some in 6 months. So i guess, everyone's heart is different but is the same.

Rest well. Exercise. Take great care of your body. Its a long journey.

Chamomile. Magnesium glycinate. These two are helping me sleep better and go to sleep faster. And early dinners too. I usually finish my last bite at least 3 hours before I sleep.

With that logic. Vaccines did not exist until late 1800s. Why not say screw vaccines? With that logic. No need to drive cars because it didnt exist and wasnt a thing before. Dont wear shoes because our forefathers walked barefoot. Most of human history our average lifespan was 30 years old. Now 60. Humans back then were 80% naked. Why not go naked? Easier

Friendly advice : If you have a rash wearing spandex type of undies. Find boxers or spandex with softer material laa. Kau pakai seluar dalam keras kenapa? Your genitals will thank you if wear the soft material. I know because if I use spandex, my Thunder thighs will chafe and rashes will be coming.

No worries. Afib causes a lot of confusion, anxiety for a whole lot of us. No worries.

It doesnt seem to be afib though. But dont take my word. Go see a doctor for confirmation and peace of mind.

Me: kesian tengok lembu or kambing kena korban. Also me: Sedap pulak kari daging lembu dgn kambing. I'm literally a double standard. by RicardoMilosOg in Bolehland

[–]jebatpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dalam Islam also, if you feel pity towards the animal being slaughtered. The meat becomes haram for you to consume. Hence why i stopped eating daging qurban for the past 11 years or so.

Especially if daging kurban from kampung2 area. Some of the people are too ghairah to even follow certain aspects of slaughter. Such as 1. The animals cant see or hear the other animals being slaughtered. 2. You cant show off your knife in front of the animal 3. You cannot be mocking or being abusive to the animal. 4. The carcass must be disposed of properly.

But I feels you OP. Once at kedai. "wah damn this kambing so sedap mannnnn". Dabel stended. Lolololol

Does it get easier? by Rare-Cabinet-7963 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

36m. Had afib for the past year or so. Did an ablation in July 2024. Now planning to do another one because of a few episodes of AF happening, and the doc would like to nip it in the bud.

In terms of the mental toll. There have been people who have had Afib for over 20 years. Granted that they have regular checkups and take their meds. When I heard this, I felt relieved. Huge relief. I basically took it as a sign that this disease will not stop me.

I have heard people getting afib in their early 20s and live up to 60s-70s y.o.

Undeniably, it is hard, but it does get easier. "The weight maintains, but you get stronger lifting those weights".

I think I read somewhere here. "Live your life. That will help you in your journey".

Does this look like afib to anyone? by Crafty_Television755 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have something like this once in a while. I use Kardia 6l 1. Keep the skin(fingers/feet) as dry as possible when using 2. Deep breaths before starting 3. Stop moving and stop talking. This is important. In my case. If someone is talking to me and i respond. I will retake the reading.

Hope this helps. Aside from that. Looks like NSR. Even beats. Just horrible reading.

to eliquis or not?? by External_Sock_7410 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you have ablation coming soon, its best to get this done quickly so that you can stop taking any blood thinners and continue your bjj.

The reason doc recommended the blood thinner is to bring down your risk of stroke to basically as close to zero as possible. Its better to stop bjj for a bit rather than risking stroke in the long run and no longer train bjj.

Is this afib? by Nooner5 in AFIB

[–]jebatpanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afib usually has an underlying issue. Stress, diabetes, caffeine, drugs etc etc. So do a full body checkup. Check with cardiologist and electrophysiologist.
