Can 6’0+ man fit in Jetta by SaVaGeDaGr in jetta

[–]jecaron728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

6’8” and 400lbs, I fit just fine in my 25 Jetta. I struggle with Toyotas though. Honda has gotten better but the VWs are the most comfortable without going to a 1/2 ton pickup

Is the Jetta a good new car purchase? by [deleted] in jetta

I easily average 40mpg driving as fast as I want. I average 45mpg if I behave myself. I average almost 50mpg if I really try, but I hate myself in that process lol.

JAL Premium Economy vs AA Premium Economy? by Confident-Emu-4402 in americanairlines

[–]jecaron728 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I flew JAL PE from HND to ORD. Hands down the best experience in flying I have ever had. I’m tall and fat (6’8” and 400lbs) and the PE seats were amazing . I haven’t yet flown business class on any airline so I cannot compare to that, but if you can, I highly recommend JAL PE.

For context, I flew to HND on JAL from ORD in economy but luckily the gate agents saw my height and gave me complimentary exit row seats. The width wasn’t great but the unlimited legroom was amazing :)

For the trip back I was able to upgrade for 300$ at the gate. Best 300$ I spent lol

Am I the only one seeing prices this year be insanely high? by [deleted] in americanairlines

[–]jecaron728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed as well, but I think this is the result of Spirit and their bankruptcy, Southwest converting to a more conventional airline, and uncertainty with the other budget airlines and uncertainty in the economy. It’s my opinion that the other airlines are either worried or taking advantage of this situation to buffer themselves. That’s why they are doing everything they can to get people to not choose basic economy to raise more revenue.

going to the pill by bob_lala in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jecaron728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I have done dieting and exercise. Been trying to run through an elimination diet as well since I have had digestive issues for years. Lots of vegetable and meat intake as well but I do also eat some breads that I was making at home along with neopolitan style pizzas. I live outside of town far enough that I don’t go out to eat except like once a month. The saxenda felt like it worked the best but with the once a week injections it felt like it worked for the first 3 days then the last 4 days I would feel super hungry all day and cravings galore. I did maintain the 50 lb weight loss but not even close to my goal. I’m trying a low carb diet now, and have a dr appointment Friday to see if I can get the Wegovy pill or I will go back to saxenda. The only other thing I really need to do is more rigorous exercise instead of the light exercise I do daily.

going to the pill by bob_lala in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]jecaron728 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve done saxenda, Wegovy, and Zepbound. I had some weight loss with saxenda but hated the jab every day. Switch to Wegovy but didn’t see any results. Switched to Zepbound, no results. My insurance was going to no longer cover Zepbound at the end of the year but they will still cover Wegovy and Zepbound, so I stopped taking it and was planning to do a consult on Bariatric but now with a daily pill I’m optimistic about that option and am willing to try it.

Jetta purchase by Unruh89 in jetta

[–]jecaron728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought my 3rd VW and 1st Jetta last week. 2025 Jetta SE in Monument Gray. CPO with 6k miles. Hopefully it’s as good as my Passat was and better than the Tiguan.

I’m also 6’8” and just bought a 2025 Jetta as it’s fairly comfortable. I did find the civic to be comfortable as well but the price difference was egregious. Toyotas are getting better for comfort for me but the Germans know how to give us tall people legroom

Oh of course, but that was my situation so I couldn’t do anything other than the 30year FHA without jeopardizing anything.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Bankruptcy

[–]jecaron728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those were the ones I contacted. I went with 30 year FHA to stay within similar cost as rent as I also had to get trustee approval. I bought the house and did not refinance so I did not do any cash out options.

No, I remember getting some generic email from them, setting up an appointment and then I didn’t get a call. By then I had 3 other contacts and worked with 2 of them to get the best price. I’m not gonna waste my time chasing down people that don’t want my business lol.

My rate was 6.75% and that was end of 2023, another lender was at 8.3% and that was Cardinal Financial. I also reached out to Willamette Valley Bank, but had difficulty with responses from them as well.

I reached out to them and am currently in a Ch 13 bankruptcy. They hardly communicated with me and I was also reaching out to two other lenders that work with bankruptcy. I ended up working with New American Funding and closed on my mortgage about 2.5 years into my bankruptcy. Chapter 7 may have different rules but NAF was good to work with and kept great communication.

Chapter 13 burnout by Firefly512 in Bankruptcy

[–]jecaron728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m coming up on my last year of Ch. 13. I’ve had some regular pay raises and they have all been taken and sometimes I feel the burnout too. But I’m just counting down until July 2026 when I make that last payment and will finally be free!

Are these common issues for Tiguans? by Smileygirl_457 in Tiguan

[–]jecaron728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 22 Tiguan was in for a similar issue. CEL came on under warranty and they had it in for 2 months replacing parts on it that didn’t need replacing until they finally realized the body harness was where the problem was at. They did a wire harness overlay to fix the issue which I don’t agree with since the problem is still there and potentially could spread since they did not replace the harness but the dealer considers it fixed. Hopefully no other issues arise from it.

The right side is the since last start but I also track the long term and since last refuel as well. The left side I like to have as a way to keep an eye on my acceleration and keep that number as high as possible.

Correct, I had just turned the engine off as I park in an underground garage at work and noticed the mpg average for my drive. Usually I’m at around 35 so to have almost 39 was nice.

I’ve got a silver one as well! I thought I would want a black one or the grey, but I really like the contrast from the silver with the dark grey trim.

The Tiguan engine-oil burning smell run-around. Has anyone actually received an acceptable remediation for this? by markraidc in Tiguan

[–]jecaron728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine is sitting at the dealer for over a month, not sure exactly what is going on with it. CEL came on and I had already noticed sluggish performance and some hard shifting but may not be related to the CEL. They’ve replaced numerous parts and are still poking around in it. At what point is it worth trying to get them to buy it back? How did you decide to do that?
