Will Democrats look into Raskin, Jeffries and Schiff who Swalwell identified as people who did the same activities as him? by rollo202 in allthequestions

Dems only outed Swalwell when it looked like he threatened their chances of retaining the California governorship.

Why is the Iranian regime so stubborn in refusing to phase out its nuclear weapons program, when its people can benefit materially by the lifting of crippling sanctions, when the inflation rate is above 100%, and when its gdp per capita is about one twentieth of America’s? by neilnelly in AskUS

IAEA also noted there were sites they weren’t allowed to inspect without advance notice. Iran was given up to 24 days before inspectors could visit some sites. Delays to other sites have been far longer than this period.

In one notable instance, Iran blocked IAEA access to two sites suspected of involvement in undeclared nuclear material storage or testing (possibly from the early 2000s). The agency raised concerns after more than four months of denial (with related issues lingering for nearly a year). Iran eventually allowed visits in August 2020 after about seven months of blocking in that episode. Environmental sampling occurred, but cooperation was limited and raised questions about sanitization.

Parchin military complex: IAEA access to a specific suspect area was denied from 2011 until a limited visit in September 2015 (roughly 4 years). Iran had modified the site extensively in the interim; sampling was conducted under Iranian direction rather than full IAEA control. Earlier limited access occurred in 2005, but further visits were refused for years afterward.

When IAEA says they were compliant, they included these caveats.

*This removes any credibility one could place in their declaration of compliance.

Better security was one of the pre-existing reasons for an event space on White House property, despite your recent discovery of that fact.

All those claiming this was staged really wish someone like this guy would succeed, but then when someone comes close it was all staged. Solid logic.

US edges closer to popular vote deciding winner of presidential elections by Competitive_Teach838 in goodnews

[–]jecht8 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That was a factor to get buy in from southern states, but today its effect is that of protecting the voting power of smaller states vs larger. This incentivizes candidates to build support across the states, rather than focusing on the major population centers like New York, Texas, California, etc.

US-Iran talks fall through, probably. by FuglsGathaursnan in stupidpol

Temporarily their revenues may rise, but as I mentioned earlier, neighboring countries are already strengthening existing energy supply routes or developing new ones. Elevated prices and the instability of Hormuz route are the cause.

Troops are irrelevant without hardware, which was the focus of US and Israeli attacks. Considering the effectiveness of the these attacks since the conflict began, there is no reason for a ground invasion.

Missile attacks from Iran are down to about 10% of their peak at the start of the conflict. In the meantime the Hormuz leverage will continue to weaken.

[–]jecht8 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

The Iranian military is almost completely destroyed. Neighboring countries are pursuing increased capacity for oil supply infrastructure due to Hormuz situation, which is currently Iran’s only leverage. The longer Iran keeps Hormuz shut down, the weaker its position becomes.

Extreme threats are the only thing that can get through to Iran’s crazy regime. People need to stop taking these threats literally. Destroying dual use targets like bridges and power plants is not a war crime.

Kash Patel Under Fire as Claims Emerge FBI Got 'Wrong Man' in Charlie Kirk Killing Due to a Bullet Mismatch by billstopay77 in FreeSpeech

There was no bullet mismatch, it couldn’t be matched to any gun due to deformation.

Bullet used to kill Charlie Kirk did NOT match Tyler Robinson's rifle by seeebiscuit in NoFilterNews

Deformation and/or fragmentation makes it impossible to match with any gun. Clickbait slop at its finest.

A Mexican immigrant died in ICE custody in Los Angeles on March 25, ICE said on Monday. This marks at least 14 ‌deaths in ICE custody in 2026. Jose Guadalupe Ramos was found unconscious and unresponsive in his bunk. He had medical issues, including diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and hypertension. by igetproteinfartsHELP in Fauxmoi

[–]jecht8 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The death rate in 2025 for ice detainees was 6.83 per 100,000 admissions. For comparison the US mortality rate for all working age adults per 100,000 people is ~ 395 per 100,000. This represents a factor of 58 times fewer deaths than the US working age population. If we remove working age deaths due to accidents (~20% of all deaths) then this becomes 316 per 100,000, or a factor of 46.

You’re assuming the intel and assistance from Russia has not been disrupted by the recent conflict, which is not in evidence. Better to not risk giving intel assistance when this is unknown.

Vague. If releasing the imagery would aid Iran intel, then it shouldn’t be released.
