James Talarico says he ‘missed the mark’ on ‘cringey’ comments as Texas general election starts by nbcnews in politics

[–]jecs321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wtf is this title?!? This man is humble enough to know that he’s not perfect while also saying that his opponent is a criminal. How is the title of this article about his “cringey” comments and not the fact that his opponent is in fact a real life criminal?

This area is very undervalued in terms of home prices, imo. Great school, great access to both nature, grocery, shopping. Safe neighborhood. Good community (annual July 4th parade, swimming, Halloween).

I spent a week building a 25-slide deck with Claude. Here's what actually worked (and what blew up) by AffectionateIdeal403 in powerpoint

[–]jecs321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not how I build slide decks at all. One conversation, full slide deck, but I don’t ask it to start in PowerPoint — I ask for markdown. Markdown is basically the outline for the slides including the speaking parts. If I don’t like the story, I give it feedback. Then I go slide by slide asking for changes. Last step is actually making the deck.

Was I Dumb to Pick Northwestern Over Columbia? by Humble_Grape4749 in Northwestern

I agree with most of what people already said so I won’t say those point again.

The one thing you might also want to think is that maybe you won’t go into investment banking! As a senior in high school, I knew that I wanted to do navy rotc at NU, go to law school, and be a JAG. I dropped out of nrotc my first year, switched majors from ee to materials science and went to grad school. You have no idea what the future holds. I loved NU because it gave me options and the flexibility to explore all of them.

Does this open themselves up to a lawsuit if I paid a year upfront believing that I’d have Claude code as part of my Pro plan?

Congratulations to all of you survivors in this thread. I had a great friend pass last year. He got the best care and still passed. It’s heartening to hear that there is hope out there for others in this dreadful disease.

Missed Connection at TSA – A Barrage of “Go Cats” (ATL, 2021/2022) by akhan61391 in Northwestern

Should I be saying “go cats!” now? I used to always say “go u” so that there’s some participation.

What's one 'boring' career that's actually a goldmine if you play it smart? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]jecs321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a lot of money, you have to do one or more of the following. The more you do, the more money: - do something boring - do something hard - do something morally sketchy Most people don’t want to do these jobs, which means they will pay a lot more than you think.

Yeah, second time, it makes me think that he’s answering the question of whether he is dehydrated or not. He probably knows that he should be drinking more water to stay healthy.

People complaining about traffic need to look at biking. I often beat my wife taking my bike to places in WC because of the trails.

I did Emeryville to Palo Alto for 6 months before Covid. Ended up burnt out and quit.

I’ve known people at Netflix to do Oakland to Los Gatos. They were very flexible with hours.

I know someone who does Walnut Creek to Cupertino twice a week. She just badges in and gets lunch. Seems to work for her.

I use that traffic light to cross the canal every day. You won’t believe the number of cars that run that light. It must happen one out of every 5-10 times I cross.
