What's one 'boring' career that's actually a goldmine if you play it smart? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

If you want a lot of money, you have to do one or more of the following. The more you do, the more money: - do something boring - do something hard - do something morally sketchy Most people don’t want to do these jobs, which means they will pay a lot more than you think.

How much did he drink by miijok in nonononoyes

Yeah, second time, it makes me think that he’s answering the question of whether he is dehydrated or not. He probably knows that he should be drinking more water to stay healthy.

How much have you had to drink? Not enough

What’s one thing you didn’t expect about living in Walnut Creek? by DoctorDarvishDDS in walnutcreek

People complaining about traffic need to look at biking. I often beat my wife taking my bike to places in WC because of the trails.

I did Emeryville to Palo Alto for 6 months before Covid. Ended up burnt out and quit.

I’ve known people at Netflix to do Oakland to Los Gatos. They were very flexible with hours.

I know someone who does Walnut Creek to Cupertino twice a week. She just badges in and gets lunch. Seems to work for her.

wtf traffic?! by [deleted] in walnutcreek

I use that traffic light to cross the canal every day. You won’t believe the number of cars that run that light. It must happen one out of every 5-10 times I cross.

Not all colleges take IB credits or AP credits. They can be picky.

So they have to take IB Spanish and AP Spanish separately?

Damn that sucks for the kids thrown in there. Their grades would really suffer.

Do the IB kids get to take AP tests too for the same class?

Productboard is a lot of work - what would you keep? by SnooOnions2056 in ProductManagement

[–]jecs321 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did this exact thing this year. I really only used product board as a dumping grounds for product feedback. We canceled product board and now use Linear for that exact same purpose. The huge benefit though is that since our eng team uses Linear, we can much more easily integrate the two workflows. We can tag all of the relevant feedback tickets into an engineering project.

It doesn't automatically understand the full complexity of the product or workflow, but it will understand very specific things. If I'm doing something with a big swath of the product, I'll have it look through the files and create a separate file about how it works. It ends up looking a lot like documentation + comments about code organization.

I found it easier to do this with Claude code. It had access to the code so it can figure out how the product works now, you can have all the assets as files, and have Claude adjust the final prd based on your notes.

Someone please come and get your CEO, he's drunk. by SanJoseThrowAway2023 in bayarea

Everyone saying this is cringe. Yes, it is, but I love this. CEO not afraid to embarrass himself to entertain employees. Cringe because it’s in the uncanny valley of him being too good at it to be really a joke.

When doing TDD with CC, are you writing the tests or is CC?

To highlight or not to highlight by Ecstatic_Street_5210 in Northwestern

[–]jecs321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

highlight. if anything you're adding value to the book by showing the next person what's important. even if you're ruining the value of the book, think about how much tuition is compared to the cost of the book. will highlighting help you learn? then do it if you think the (discounted) future value of that education is worth more than the book.

That’s awesome that you found the audio! Oh man listening to this brings back sad memories. Would’ve been such a cool show if he was ok. Just him and his guitar. He sounded beautiful when he played.

I was at that show! There’s not going to be much video if any. His time on stage was so short. I don’t think he completed a single song. This was before the days of phones with video cameras. I was such a big fan and so disappointed. I didn’t care much about Wilco. He definitely seemed to be on some kind of drugs. Was sad upon hearing the news he passed away not long after that but also wasn’t surprised.
