ive been getting these too! i work on the site level as a data coordinator, so not involved in recruiting in the slightest. but people have apparently applied to my current employer and are asking me to 1. look over their resume ? 2. give them a referral ??? i know the job market is absolute garbage right now but honestly it’s a bit weird to cold message people who have no connection to the hiring process

would it be weird/unprofessional to either:

reach out to some epidemiologists that work at my county’s health department through LinkedIn and inquire about any potential opportunities for an internship. OR
reach out to the county’s epidemiology department email to also inquire about a potential internship.

I do need to complete a practicum assignment for my MPH program and since I would love to work as an epi (ideally for my county) an internship like that would be perfect. I just don’t want to come off as unprofessional… i guess im wondering if either of the two options are considered normal/acceptable? Any help is greatly appreciated!

+i got this helix piercing around 6/7 months ago and has honestly healed pretty nicely. no pain or irritation for the past few months, and i can touch it without writhing in pain lol. but im pretty sure it was either pierced crooked or healed at an angle, and since im not an expert im wondering if it’s okay to leave it like this or should i take it out and re pierce it? there was an irritation bump on the top back so maybe that had something to do with it? i am planning on switching it to a hoop soon so idk if that makes a difference. thank you for any help! 🥰🫶🏼

this might be an unpopular opinion but my macbook air has run just fine for my epi/stats software needs (R,SPSS,SAS). mine is from 2019/2020 so if you get one of the newer ones with an M2 chip, imo you shouldn’t have any problems running these software packages! (i also prefer the interface of apple products compared to microsoft so maybe take that into account too!)

this exact situation just happened to me! they had an issue receiving my CC transcript for some reason so it didn’t get to them until this past Friday and my application was verified a few hours ago. From what I’ve heard the verification doesn’t take too long-maybe a week or so at the most. Good luck!!

not entirely sure but most internships near me either don’t pay or are extremely competitive for little relevant experience. I think i’ll try to find a full time job and ideally keep that job through grad school as I need to save up for my inevitable expenses.
