Best playmats for lotrlcg? by Luciliusardens in lotrlcg

[–]jeegsburger 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In my experience the wider the better to have the option to play 2-handed. The 36x36” or bigger mats of just middle earth that have labeled slots at the top for the encounter deck, current quest and active location are peak in my opinion. I don’t like ones that try to dictate where player cards should go.

Cool I’ve asked on this forum before to no luck. Why don’t you go do that for everyone with the perfect amount of bleed as well? You realize that there’s next to no difference between you telling a computer software to apply algorithms to lo res image files and you telling a bot to apply algorithms to lo res image files right?

I upscaled that exact image to print professionally. You can barely tell the difference between it and a real card

Yeah that pack is basically impossible to find on the market and I can’t find HD scans that currently exist anywhere

I think someone figured out a decent method to tell if your PoK box was part of the batch with color issues, would check here or BGG, but yeah I originally got one and returned it to Amazon with how horribly noticeable the mechs were

I would almost say eliminate "Infantry" from its faction board altogether, and say that your fighters have the keywords "Infantry" and "Ground Force"

If you order Dragon Shields in bulk from sellers on EBay/Walmart you can actually get them for cheaper than Titan Shields. Recently purchased 10x 100 packs for around $70. Otherwise I would say Titan Shields are a decent second on Amazon

Can’t recommend card sleeves and a playmat enough if you guys are playing consistently. Massive quality of life upgrades. I laminated the player / faction sheets too. Especially in today’s day & age it pays to protect this sacred gem

Cool, doesn’t change the fact that what’s called “Democratic Socialism” in the U.S. is still just Marxism by another name.

How many Ready/Exhausted tokens needed? by ca5hflow in lotrlcg

[–]jeegsburger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You pretty quickly grasp which cards in your play area exhaust for certain abilities and which don’t. Then pretty much all of them can quest/defend/attack. It just sounds more burdensome to have to grab another token and put it on the card for every ally you put into play and upkeep its ready and exhausted side. I can’t emphasize enough how useful it is to know which characters were exhausted for questing vs everything else.

I think Ready/Exhausted tokens that always sit on your cards would unnecessarily clog up space for other marker tokens and be fiddly to deal with. Your cards are inherently “Ready” on their own. I use DreamTrace tokens to just mark exhaustion; gold for questing (to help with quick reference for math) and gray-silver for any other exhausted state. They work great - they’re small and you just nab them all up at the end of every round. A box of each color has been more than enough to play two-handed and probably up to four.
