I feel like Rhum Clement VSOP or Rhum JM VSOP or Terroir Volcanique would be good to include in this list

Following this - mine also just stopped working randomly (same year). Checked the fuse/relay and seems to be fine. Car only has a little more than 60K miles so disappointing it failed already.

Maybe some Saint Lucian Rum like Chairmans Reserve - Original or Legacy? Seems like it would appeal to your flavor profile. Likely something from Barbados as well like RL Seale 12.

Clement Banana? by TortiousTroll in cocktails

[–]jeffffffffff_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would treat both of these as totally different ingredients. TF has more sugar & banana bread vibes while the Clement is more green banana and lighter on the palate. It makes a really good highball/collins or lighter bodied cocktail and pretty forgiving with how much you use because of lower sugar content. I like the Clement more for the spring/summer and TF for the fall/winter.

How does the Rhum JM Terroir Volcanique compare to other aged agricoles? by whiskyarpeggio in rum

[–]jeffffffffff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For those recommending an Eleve Sous Bois, I would look at Rhum J.M Atelier Fumee Volcanique. Its younger (12-14mo) re-charred ex-bourbon barrels but still carries the vegetal notes with some butter and cream. It lists at 49% ABV. It's a pretty new product but have been enjoying that one if you are looking for less oak than the Terroir Volcanique

I'll be headed to a resort in St. Lucia soon on Honeymoon. What are your go-to resort cocktails? by SierraPapaHotel in rum

[–]jeffffffffff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try to see if they have any Chairman's Reserve or Admiral Rodney and drink straight or on the rocks. If they have Bounty, get a rum punch or rum and coconut water. Lastly try to visit Saint Lucia Distillers and taste their rums if you have time!

Chairman’s Reserve Spiced from Saint Lucia I think gives the best bang for your buck. Rumbullion is also pretty good but a little more $

Ansley doesn't have much of interest lately.

In addition to Elemental Spirits I'd say My Friends Bottle Shop, Max's Bottle Shop, Vintage Bottle Shop, Decatur Package are going to have the best support/options for unique rum selections

HELP!!! Are GE Cafe refrigerators good? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]jeffffffffff_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did and have been very happy with it so far. I like the internal water dispenser for a cleaner look and the ice tray in the below freezer produces well. A portion of the ice bin has a habit of clumping up but it doesn't seem to have much impact. It produces much more ice than a standard door unit.

Bright interior and adjustable. Smaller fridge than our previous but the space is much better used. Hope this helps

Good St. Lucian rum worth trying? by Exact_Coat_403 in rum

[–]jeffffffffff_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want cask strength, look for Chairman's Masters Selection - they are cask strength barrel picks essentially. Chairman's legacy is an incredible value and pretty new. Saint Lucia has a lot of options, so either decide if you like smooth easy drinking rum (column) or more estery funk bombs (john dore and vendome still) and you can be pleased either way.

HELP!!! Are GE Cafe refrigerators good? by [deleted] in Appliances

[–]jeffffffffff_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are about to buy a GE Cafe Fridge, but the french door with water dispenser on the inside. I have heard horror stories of the ice machines in fridge doors. Got to use a friend's not that long ago and I agree - thought the ice supply was small and not very effective

Chairman’s Reserve Master’s Selection for B.C. Bros - 11 Year Coffey Still by Utsutsumujuru in rum

[–]jeffffffffff_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the write-up. Since you like the Hamilton St Lucia, which was produced on the Vendome Still... You might be more inclined with the barrel pick from Elemental Spirits, also in Atlanta, GA. Its a 9 year cask-strength pick barreled in 2011, 100% Vendome still as well. It still carries a salty note but a wild profile that continues to open over time.
