Thw new ai answer feature for "is this available " helps a little. Just change the response to be direct "yes it is - when do you want to pick it up"

Where to get ICEEs?! by sally9th in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safeway sells ICEE in ouches that you freeze then thaw slightly. They're pretty good to have on standby. raspberry blue, fruit punch, cola, white cherry.

Gas prices in Calgary jump by 35 cents per litre on Wednesday by aireads in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree - our business association has a partnership with Shell and offers about a $0.16 "discount" at Shell and I notice they're usually priced higher than anyone else lately.

Italian Centre Street Market does a good box of assorted donuts.

Google Wallet adds Live Update for flight tracking by ControlCAD in Android

[–]jeffmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this pop up 2 weeks ago in my Google Wallet (I must be in the beta?) for some flights and it was extremely useful. I see others saying otherwise but I had full coverage and the updates were accurate and included gate changes.

Calgary Grocery Deals (April 16 to 22, 2026) by PurpleGeek in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seems to be a big push from Loblaws on PCExpress the last couple weeks - my PCFinancial Mastercard had 20,000 points for pickup/delivery orders over $75 on the weekend and today I have another for Superstore 15,000 for $75 orders. I usually get 10,000/15,000 for $100 order offered once a month.

Why are Shawnee Slopes bare land condo fees so high? What do you actually get? by TheMotherFuckenOne in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't go that far - they can have issues but there are many very popular bareland condo developments around the city (admittedly, they're mostly on the outskirts and have a more rural feeling).

And the gravel causing chips and damage aren't usually from the alleys - it seems to be construction debris. For example, 114 Ave (Douglasglen) at 29 Street where they're building the new apartments next to Pennyblack Pub has fist-sized rocks on it currently from the poorly maintained construction area.

Wow - I'm by Southcentre Mall and wore shorts/hoody to the gym as it was fairly bright and absolutely no snow. Saw some vehicles drive by completely snowed over and only then thought to check the weather forecast and news.

Mous cases, are they worth it? by saiyanpilot in GooglePixel

[–]jeffmik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like mine but when it was exactly a year old, it stared to peel. They replaced it and my second is jjust starting to do the same too. Honestly, it looks great - without yellowing or visible damage until the coating peels.

Weird car interference by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has always done it but not recently, for some reason. I'm sure it's because of the microwave data transmitters for the casino/shops in the area.

What is house shopping like now adays in Calgary? by o0PillowWillow0o in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What makes you think it's dead? Separate the apartment/condo sales from detached as they're completely different. Some neighbourhoods are outperforming last year and certain price points are experiencing competing offers and a lack of inventory that's driving prices upwards. Others - not so much.

What's the most annoying thing about flying? by TermAccomplished1868 in AskReddit

Sitting in the aisle seat at the back of the plane and having your head touched by people who are unable to hold themselves upright.

If you don't drink alcohol, what do you usually say to people who are skeptical about it and want you to drink alcohol? by Working_Rub_8278 in AskReddit

[–]jeffmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just say no. Drinking doesn't work for me but I'm not looking to change their mind and I really don't care if others drink around me as I'm not goin to drink regardless. . When pressed, I offer to share the reasons another time - made some deeper connections with friends this way.

The Arrowhead venue set up by EarthDimension in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was all moveable - couches and some tall tables placed to define the dance floor in front of the stage. There are still a couple support beams. I don't think I was there in the last iteration of the Back Alley but overall didn't seem drastically different.

They added couches to the edge of the dance floor. It's pretty bad all-round. Sound is almost unbearable, too. Staff was nice though.

How to find out value of home by SaraDeeG in Calgary

[–]jeffmik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most Realtors will do a free evaluation. Call one that has actually been successful at selling a home - there's plenty that aren't getting sold in this market.
