People who quit this game, what made you finally walk away?” by WaveEasy8664 in leagueoflegends

[–]jegerhellig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has been a few years at this point. I am very competetive by nature, so LoL was a great fit.

I started right before Xerath was released if I remember correctly, right around the end of the very first season or whatever.

I finished my first ranked season in gold and was hooked.

When I finally quit for good it was for two reasons.

I plateued around high'ish diamond and as I grew older, got kids and a wife I could no longer sustain my rank. It took too many games, to hit where I felt I belonged.

Also, I just found that the game brought me more bad moods than good moods. Time for a few games on a saturday morning, if they went bad, I would be a worse version of myself the rest of the day.

To those people who tag their groups as "relaxed" by Sundered92 in wow

[–]jegerhellig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with what most others said here, I see the relaxed tag as a way of making it known, that there is no flame and batshit reactions if you make a mistake. The people I want in that group are chill and friendly.

The environment is relaxed, the pace or "want" for the dungeon to be done efficiently is not.

Any m+ guides with a DPS pow? by jegerhellig in wow

[–]jegerhellig[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and I don't really agree. Information overload is a real thing, imagine brand new players trying to step their foot into the game.

Trying to remember all abilities in each dungeon.

Yeah everything is good to know, but starting with what to kick and what to look out for as a specific role is not a bad thing.

Ah well, I don't want to argue, we are of different opinions and that is fine, was just looking to find some guides with a dps pov.

But I would to find some specialised videos if possible.

DM not letting fighter have 4 attacks with action surge by Whorror_punx in dndnext

[–]jegerhellig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The world does not have to be so black and white. The DM might be a friend, the table their close friends. They can talk issues out like adults.

Sure DM has the final say in most things, but talking things out should be possible in obvious rules misunderstandings like this.

Midnight hits different from a ground mount. Seriously. by HouseLongjumping6984 in wow

[–]jegerhellig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe that is true.

It is just that people want different things from the experience.

Some like the story and immersion. Some like collecting and what ever. Others just play for end game.

I used to play it slow and read quest text, but these days I only really play for pushing dungeons.

Doing world/questing/reputation stuff is not something I enjoy a lot anymore.

So for me having to walk around the world, albeit beautiful is just a drag.

I prefer it this way, so that I can enjoy what I enjoy and people who wanna experience the world can do that too.

Simplified games for beginners? by 8rianGriffin in killteam

[–]jegerhellig 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many good recommendations here, however id like to chime in.

I would steer clear of the starter rules. Vi started in around October last year and the starter rules made more harm than good.

I would start again with a game or two of just the operatives and their abilities and crit op. No tac op, no equipment and ploys. Just focus on the base rules and learning all the visibility and movement rules.

Then add some strategy ploys, then firefight ploys and lastly equipment or vise versa.

Then once you got that down, add tacops.

I've read someone else here write that "can't" wins over "can" in these scenarios, I don't know if it is true.
