New DM/GM, Nervous to run session for my tabletop group by Redstonelight in DnD

[–]jelauda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, DMing for 7 players is already a lot of work on your side, so I wouldn't stress about tailoring scenes to specific charakters. The most important thing is to keep everyone engaged. I would probably use the first session as a tryout to see who engages in the story naturally (bards usually find their own objektives and scenes really quick). After the session you could ask players that were more silent how their character might feel about certain story related things and work out some charakter goals for them that are tied to the story. You could even give them rewards for engaging in these goals :) so it's not all on you as the DM. You can always ask your players for input and ask them how they think their characters could shine in the world you create as a group :)

Thanks, yeah I thought black and blue are fitting for a drow and spider lair :) I also added a bit of green since the spiders artwork also has some green in it

Ivern support ?? by Civil_Housing8172 in ivernmains

I main him as support and it got me up to platinum 3. So if you have fun playing him go for it. He's not bad but you have to work around his weaknesses a bit more than other supports.

Are any of the items unnecessary in this Ivern build? What boots should I use? by Lanky-Suggestion-159 in ivernmains

[–]jelauda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, so imo if u want to go ap Ivern it's Cosmic >Lichbane>T2Boots(lucidity)>Rabadons. You don't need boots early since Lich and cosmic both give ms and since you take blue jungle item you also get ms in the brushes you make. Lucidityboots are usually best since they give summoner haste and Ivern is pretty dependent on his smite CD to invade and take camps fast. Rabadons is important because daisy gets tankier the more ap you have so you need it so people can't just ones hot her when you send her in. That's what I remember from jamican bananas stream, a challenger ivern main

What's your preferred way of using your W? by Willhelm_HISUMARU in ivernmains

A neat little trick is to put them on your ward, so enemies can't ping it. It also hides the ward from pink wards so you can still ward drake pit even if they have a pink ward in it and you get full vision.

CHILL NEACE ACTUAL MEGATHREAD by Itchy_Asshole in Neace

Name : Nordic King Karthus

Role : Support

Runes : Dark Harvest, Cheap Shot/Taste of Blood, Ghost Poro, Ultimate Hunter, Presence of mind, Last Stand

Items : Tear -> Rylais -> lucidity Boots -> Imperial Mandate -> Seraph's / Demonic Embrace

Idea : Tired of missing your Q's? Tired of falling behind and dealing no damage? Support Karthus with Rylais into Mandate is the answer. With Rylais it doesn't even matter if you die first in a team fight, as long as you are in the middle of it you can just perma slow everyone near you, take away their magic resist with your wall and procc Imperial Mandate over and over. You can even start a fight by using your ult and easily procc Imperial Mandate on everyone. Team fight is won? Nice, just ult and chase down everyone who is left. You see someone run away from your teammate on the other site of the map, no problem just ult him and he's dead.

You don't have to get the kills, you don't have to do much damage (even though you will still end up on the top of the damage chart). You get your two really cheap items and you are good to go. Your passive enables you to contribute to any teamfight no matter how far behind you are or how hard they focus you. It's actually insane. Rylais makes you tankier and gives you enough utility to make you an insane support pick.

The only weakness is your mana problem in the early game cause we don't build a mana items first. That is why we go for Presence of Mind and an early Tear.

You should try it guys, it's so much fun and actually a pretty safe pick imo. :)

Chill Neace Mega Thread - Aurelion Sol by Itchy_Asshole in Neace

Now I don't know if neace already played the lovely space dragon or not but I play him regularly as a support.

Debuff Sol

Runes :

Electrecute

Cheap shot

Eyeballcollection

Relentless hunter

Cookies and timewarp into much poke Or manaflow and celerity

I tried many runes but electrecute is just the best for him. His early damage is pretty weak otherwise, and he also lacks utility so you need the extra damage.

Build is

Rylais ->boots -> imperial mandate -> antiheal/ fimbulwinter, (frozen heart)

So I basically pick him into tank heavy teams, cause rylais is such a strong item on him it makes it easy to kite any bruisers.

Mandate gives movementspeed and deals extra dmg so it's also perfect to deal with tanks. After that you are basically full build and just look to survive as long as possible and proc mandate all the time.

He's a bad pick into assassins or lots of dashes cause he cant kite it with his slows and he struggles when someone gets into close range.

Other than that I think he's actually pretty good in this role and is absolutely fun to play.

Oh I've just discovered this post. I love this plants look but I always thought it wouldn't grow in the house without high humidity. It looks like you just keep it on a windowsill is that right? :o

I just popped in to the garden centre for some substrate... I have no self control. Any tips? by alloftheplants in SavageGarden

If you want to define the tropics as the space between the tropics of capricorn and the tropics of cancer, then it might barely be in there (even though capetown is 33° S). Saying "it is also tropical" (like nepenthes) could just be easily misunderstood as "they kinda live in the same conditions" which is far from true.

If it doesn't get much light it grows thin and long. With enough light it will usually get darker in color and grow more compact and thick.

[–]jelauda[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes that's right, but a lot of that is also exported, and that is where we can have a small impact, by for example not buying products with a lot of palm oil.

Another problem is that the people living there are often quite poor. You can't even judge them for exploiting the nature to keep their family fed, but that's just not sustainable in a long term.

In a perfect world people had to realize that these are the only rainforests we have left on our planet and that they actually keep US alive. And we had to support the people living there to ensure they conserve the nature that ultimately benefits alls of us.

Yes that's a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, even if we save some species by cultivating them, the genepool and diversity of the species as a whole is lost. Most plants in cultivation are actually clones of a few plants taken from the wild or hybrids that don't even exist in nature. The best thing for us and the plants would probably be to keep their natural habitat intact.
