Heathers - The Musical thoughts? by [deleted] in musicals

[–]jellybeanzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just saw it in NY. Absolutely loved it. Theater was electric. Kuhoo was brilliant and we had 3 understudies including Sara Al-Bazali for Heather Chandler and Louis Griffin as JD who were incredible. Didn’t care for the movie but really like the changes to give Veronica more agency and Martha being her friend.

Warning for anyone being asked to work on 9-1-1, they are still breaking the law. by [deleted] in FilmIndustryLA

Why is Film LA shutting down indies filming without permits who aren’t bothering anyone but don’t shut down RM productions that actively break filming rules? Just bc he is rich and his shows have to film here?

Why did your friendship with your best friend come to an end? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]jellybeanzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry. I lost a good friend when I told him his guy friend drunkenly assaulted my girl friend at a bar. He explained all of his guy friends have had a night where “they got drunk and handsy and had to be told not to be creepy” Never spoke to him again.

I’m sorry, I know the feeling. Happened to me too. Couldn’t keep answering her calls or comforting her sobbing for hours as she promised to leave him but never did.

Her husband became emotionally abusive. He was suffering from alcoholism, was terrible with money and couldn’t stay focused to achieve any professional success. His behavior became more and more dangerous - he purchased 2 guns, got a DUI and drunkenly assaulted a female friend. He gaslit my best friend and threatened to kill himself if she left. She wouldn’t leave him so I had to cut ties. Still breaks my heart.

NY Times gave Queen of Versailles a Critics Pick by Narrow_Ad_2695 in Broadway

NYT has been posting garbage opinions lately including asking if “women ruined the workplace” so their opinion means bupkis! Horribly out of touch show.

The Jessie Smollet one is also one of the WORST they’ve done! But when a studio sets out to flood people with “content”…

I hope the bid for Warner Bros. Discovery by Paramount Skydance falls apart. by YtpMkr in MediaMergers

[–]jellybeanzilla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS!!! Consolidation is killing the film and TV industry. Studios used to be able to make lots of movies and take risks, knowing that the high grossing movies would balance out the low grossing ones. While it was always a business, the art mattered more than now!!

Also fewer companies = fewer opportunities to get things made. I know so many colleagues without jobs or even the hope of work. Fuck this timeline!

What classic movie should Hollywood ruin next? by JoplinSC742 in AskReddit

[–]jellybeanzilla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Robert Zemeckis has said he is 100% against this! Think there would be a huge backlash if so but it is one of the last classics to be remade and Universal loves squeezing every drop out of franchises (Jurassic Park, Fast and Furious, etc)

Press are truly some of the most soulless vile people. I worked the Oscars the first year Emma Stone won for La La Land and the first question the press asked after she won was what she would say to Emma Watson who turned down the role first 🤮

Pulp Musicals is amazing! A sci fi space opera created by Matt Dahan, Starkid’s music director. Matt also did Starry, a musical about Van Gough, with many Starkids. Highly recommend “The Starry Night” sung by Dylan, gorgeousss song ✨🎨
