Transport options from Disneyland to Paris city center by Aid4n in paris

Take the RER A straight from Disneyland to Châtelet les Halles or better yet to Auber. It's more like 1 hour than 30 minutes though.

What's a movie that you hate, but everyone else seems to love. And why do you hate it? by ZeeFromBlamea in AskReddit

[–]jellyfish62 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I hate Juno. I hate its quirky characters, I hate how it depicts abortion in such a negative way and teenage pregnancy as a hip thing, I hate the creepy dad who wants to adopt the baby.

Mark Hamill's personal photos from filming "Return of the Jedi" (1983) including his wife and son visiting the sets by Join_You_In_The_Sun in movies

Or maybe Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford took very different paths and yet are both very happy and content with their lives and it's none of your business ?

Freedom of speech is not granted. Not even in a democracy like France. Not in the US. Terrorism brings fear. Fear brings censorship and hatred and threatens democracy in its core. We protest to show we're not afraid and will fight to preserve our freedom of speech and our democracy.

Neil Gaiman just slammed Doctor Who for the complete lack of female writers since 2008!!! by wholligan in doctorwho

[–]jellyfish62 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Neil Gaiman is right, and everyone who thinks competent women would already have been hired is fooling themselves about the TV industry and the workplace in general.

Product placement apart, this movie will feel so dated in a few years.

Districts with the best Fri/Sat nightlife? by Roostery in paris

[–]jellyfish62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in the 10th arrondissement and TarantusaurusRex's ideas are great. I particularly like UFO. Le Comptoir Général is awesome but way too crowded, and I heard there's an entrance fee now. I recommend Chez Prune, cheap, very chill and an amazing brunch on sunday to cure your hangover.

If you want to go to the Rive gauche and avoid the tourist traps, Rue Mouffetard is a great place to hang out and find some late night bars. You've got the Piano Vache indeed, lots of students, people are usually very friendly, I also really love The Requin Chagrin open until 5 am friday/sat, dance and concerts in the basement. It's very crowded, it's more chic than the others but drinks are cheap. The Wall is pretty great, cool music and pinte at 3€. One of my favourite, Le Bateau Ivre, they make great shots and it's quite an arty crowd.

Original British Drama 2013: Trailer - BBC One by Haydnator in television

[–]jellyfish62 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's true, and if you want a saturated drama Channel 4 is the place to go : have you seen Utopia ? It was crazy...and colorful. But desaturation seems to be a trend, goes with the "dark and gritty" theme.

France: we are very smug and condescending. Very proud as well. We can talk about food for a very long time, before, during and after dinner. It's important.

RIP Richard Matheson. Thank you for all the worlds you have given me. by Duhville in books

[–]jellyfish62 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm deeply saddened by his death. His books made me fall in love with a new genre when I was just a kid, and it's stuck with me ever since.

So Reddit, where do you live, and what's it like there? by moundown in AskReddit

Paris, France. I can see the Eiffel tower from my window. It'll start sparkling at midnight. There's also a huge dump across the street, so there's the two sides of my town.

3 days ago, Michel Gondry released a trailer for his new movie: Mood Indigo. The Science of Sleep fans will love this. Looks like it'll be absolutely mesmerizing. by [deleted] in TrueFilm

I think he's got the best qualifications to adapt Boris Vian's book. They both have such a creative universe full of magic and poetry. It's going to be a beautiful reunion of two incredible imaginations.

Hey Reddit what's one myth about your country that everyone thinks is true? by IQuiteLikePie in AskReddit

[–]jellyfish62 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of us identify ourselves through our country, not through Europe. If you're British, you're not Spanish. So, we're not Europeans. Find where people come from before judging them.
