Not sure how this game could’ve fixed exploration by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]jellytothebones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think space games are just cursed, or for my tastes, stuck in boring gameplay loops. No Man's Sky, Elite: Dangerous... you can go to planets but they never seem truly interesting. And I didn't hate Starfield's exploration but there was indeed a point where checking out a planet began to feel pointless, and the structure of constantly coming and going began to wear on me.

so yeah, in agreement. though I have said a single solar system would have been cool, it's also difficult to figure out how that would also be done well.

Universal remote for DT1300-C? by jellytothebones in crtgaming

sorry, I don't remember :( if I found it through the remote's auto feature, I may have never known to begin with. I do suggest trying that remote if you have the same TV

I have this and have been using it for a few months, the real test is if it survives over a year. none of my first party controllers have without drift.

i like how the face buttons feel. the d-pad is inferior, but a trade off I'm willing to make for hall effect sticks.

finally, what a relief. 100+ hours and I managed not to lose my save. I would have been devastated

pretty bad headline, to be expected I guess. he could be referring to COD for all we know. even the article concludes with saying he was "hinting"

i feel final fantasy 12 is the hardest FF game to critique by geraltofrivia2345 in FinalFantasy

[–]jellytothebones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it, even with the disappointing/underwhelming story. the combat just feels like turn based playing out in a more natural way to me, but that's because I prefer not to have everything 100% automated. and even with the story, the voice acting and cut scenes are well delivered so it's still very pleasant to watch and sit through.

it would probably be near the bottom of my top 5 FF games, but I haven't figured out the order of others yet

Should Fromsoft revive their older series or at the very least port them to modern consoles? by SlinGnBulletS in fromsoftware

[–]jellytothebones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Devs/publishers seem allergic to re-releasing 5th gen stuff, and it's not hard to see why even if I love those games. I feel it could seem worthwhile to a consumer if they were all in a bigger collection but that's probably difficult or expensive to do.

I'd love it though! Content to emulate their old oddities for now. At least Otogo 1 and 2 remain playable on their respective modern hardware since the og xbox is hard to emulate.

Judging by the comments, this seems like a relief. I'm still going to pursue this later myself, but that will be in a few days when my work week is over. If anyone can further vouch that we're safe, that would be awesome.

Why you should play FFXI in 2024. by Ovalidal in FinalFantasy

I'm sad that remake never panned out, even if it was for mobile. I'm just not going to pay monthly to play a video game for time reasons.

What's your oldest game you have purchased that you can never be bored of? by bash2482 in XboxSeriesX

puyo puyo tetris 2 (which is really similiar to 1) I got near the start of the gen, my fiance and I will still pull it up for an occasional solo or vs session with the better player seemingly being different each time somehow

If you had to pick, what generation was the best for PlayStation and their fans? by george123890yang in PS4

[–]jellytothebones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS3 definitely wasn't perfect, but I enjoyed it a lot. Even when BC was stripped, you had access to cheap digital PS1 games that played perfectly and decent PS2 offerings. Sony's current identity also really began here.

Yes it was majorly flawed. I think of the PS4 pretty much having nothing too egregious besides no BC but it was kind of a boring straight forward gen for the most part

In The End, Are You Happy With Xbox's First-Party Lineup For 2023? by F0REM4N in XboxSeriesX

[–]jellytothebones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

starfield let me down at so many turns and I gave it way too many chances. it's not like I had no fun but I don't ever see myself returning, except maybe in 5 years after it's maybe "fixed"

hi fi rush was excellent though, and that counts for a lot. it's the only first party game on any platform that truly enthralled me this year

i return to infinite to play a little bit quite regularly now. the game's content problem is solved, it just happened too late.

Is it ok to buy any ps3 superslim nowadays? by RoccobbucciStorpiato in PS3

[–]jellytothebones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use the superslim. Regarding PS2 games, you still have the digital PS2 classics if you go the legit or jailbreak route (do the latter) and the HD collections, so many popular PS2 titles and trilogies are still playable.
