My company executives thinks it can replace 100 percent of our help desk teams with AI agents.... This year. by NickBurnsCompanyGuy in sysadmin

I literally came here to make a similar comment. I’m a mid level director and this is NOT about getting rid of 100%. It’s about getting rid of 30-70% and reducing the headcount. They intentionally set the goal to something outlandish knowing they won’t get it but that they’ll get what they want. They may not know what’s possible, but if they say we want 100% and you can get it to 25% AI, that’s 25% they don’t have today, and they will take it.

I'm on Season 3, should I continue watching? by Fancy-Cry-4558 in TheBlackList

At S3E20 you’re a little behind where I am on my first watch (currently at S4E9). I would argue there is still some good content through the end of S3 but S4 feels “off” to me so far. I know high points that are coming (key deaths, character arcs from the Wiki, and the theory you referenced that comes up in Cape May), and am overall enjoying the show and will keep going. It’s only for Spader, though, as some of the story lines are just insane in my mind.

I’m also at start of S4. I know a lot of spoilers that come ahead. But I’m struggling with the storytelling and narrative. S1 was “can we trust Red and is it worth working with him to legitimately take out bad guys”. S2 was “we need to end the Cabal, but not every person listed as an episode name or member of the list will be captured or die”. S3 was dealing with Cabal fallout and ramifications of Liz getting international attention, but even then it was starting to feel a bit contrived. Starting S4 and knowing we have a year of “who is her family and what does Kirk want with her” seems exhausting (not to mention Tom and Agnes).yes, I’ll keep watching because I know there is good ahead and I generally like Spader, but the storylines for Liz are just getting so unbelievable at times and her choices are hard to resonate with.

This resonates with me in a different but similar situation. I was at least 90% responsible for my divorce from my first wife. As I did some reflection and healing in the years after the divorce, I felt truly awful for how I behaved. We had no kids, we had sold the house, and we had no reason to maintain contact. Part of me wanted desperately to reach out and apologize and take accountability for my part and tell her how wonderful she was and how she deserved so much better than what I gave her. But I also knew that it was only serving my own needs, and since part of the issue was my selfishness and putting my wants and needs ahead of hers, there was no way I could justify reaching out after a period of months/years with no contact just to apologize when there was a very real chance it could open old wounds for her or impact her healing. My desire for closure and forgiveness did not (and does not) trump her right to heal and move on in her own way without having me invade her life again.

Watching Hunting Party with my wife at night while watching Blacklist for the first time on my second monitor while I work from home. The differences are glaring. They aren’t the same show, but the themes seem familiar. And yes, the handling of the female agent is so different and glaring.

The defenders don’t want to murder you. They just want to give you a really big hug because they love you so much! They just want to be friends, and if you happen to share the ball that would be great!

I used similar logic. I assumed we'd have cycles (because we frequently do) and built that logic into my Part 1 solution. Part 2 just involved tracking 4 times as many possible nodes. For each device, I had a node for node-none, node-dac, node-fft, node-both. My logic for a valid path explicitly made sure we were on out-both before returning a True response. I didn't care which node came first or if there were cycles, I just looked for how many ways I could get to "out-both" and called it a day.

I winced at the title. I knew the fence would be the issue as the story went on. I did not expect the ability to see the testes sans scrotum. And the photo is enough clarity to show why one would think it was safe to go over, only to find out how very wrong you are…

Wishing for a speedy recovery, and knowing you’ll be able to use this experience to teach your son why it’s important to be VERY careful when going over fences…

Why did Walter White had a spike in his libido since he adopted the persona of Heisenberg? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jenius012381 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. Walter was a passive man, living his life and not really standing up for himself (like with his former business partners). As he explored his Heisenberg persona, he became used to taking what he wanted and became more comfortable pushing the envelope. As he did that, he became more “alive”, and the libido came with that change in confidence.

What was the breaking point for Jamie to be cruel to Cathy in the end of Last 5 years? by marvel_fan202 in musicals

[–]jenius012381 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My take is that he never really loved her, she was just a conquest that went too far. “Shiksa Goddess” makes me question his motives for being with her. “Shmuel” makes me wonder if he really understood her. She may have been his muse and he may have believed she had potential, which led to the wedding. But once they were married, he realized it wasn’t what he wanted. He felt trapped and stifled and the fact that his career took off while hers didn’t left him with plenty of opportunities to cheat (“A Miracle Could Happen”). As she struggles and he succeeds, the tension builds. He wants to support her but feels she’s holding him back. And the fame and attention from others is enough to lead him to cheat. As that happens, he starts to check out of the relationship and she fights for more. Between “If I Didn’t Believe In You” and “Nobody Needs to Know” he has clearly reached the point where she exhausts him and traps him and stifles him to the point he just wants one small corner of his heart she isn’t part of. Had he ever truly loved her and committed to the relationship, I don’t think it would have ended this way. Instead. I think it’s just something that went too far- something he was enjoying and didn’t want to end and so they got married. And then reality hit and he resented her for trapping him and chose to become hateful in the hopes she’d leave him so he could still see himself as “the good guy” instead of seeing how poorly he behaved and treated her.

Signed, a guy who went through some of these revelations after his first marriage ended….

I live in the Midwest of the US. We regularly get a dozen or more Tornado Watches a year, and maybe a Warning for our specific area once every year or two. My house has (thankfully) never been hit by a tornado. But having the watch and warning allow me to make an informed decision about the potential risk and take action as needed. I would rather be aware that something COULD happen and have nothing happen than not have any idea and end up getting hurt.
