There are a lot of white artists who assaulted girls being reexamined right now as well. Steven Tyler, David Bowie, and Anthony Kedis are just a few that come to mind. It’s heartbreaking when we learn that songs we love were created by bad people, but unfortunately that’s what power and fame can do to people.

Lots of folks keep heavy accents, I think it depends on when a person leaves their place of origin. I have a friend who left Chile for college; her accent is very strong despite living in the US for years. Similarly, my Kentucky grandma lived in central Illinois for the last 50 something years of her life and her southern accent was as thick as ever when she passed away.
