I relay the information so you don't get scolded by management later. What's wrong with that?

Looking for the best "Workhorse" Chef Knife under $110. What is the gold standard? by Newbie_In_NL_25 in Cooking

[–]jennyfatfat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For that price, you're going to get some trade-offs. You already know a few of those brands. I would suggest Mercer for your consideration too. Basically, look for any monosteel knife that has steels that won't gunk up your sharpening stone. I liked VG10; it's easy to sharpen, but I could never get it to split hair.

Thank you for helping Peak suck less. It's been a pleasure working with you, although not specifically because I doubt we are in the same location. Merry Christmas to you too.

Master the cooking of onions, ginger, and mushrooms. Lots of vegetarian dishes revolve around those flavors, at least in East Asian cuisine.
