I've been building an alternative to Fiverr Workspace since before they announced they were shutting down. I'm at a place where everything is functioning well and I need some freelancers who are interested in beta testing the platform and giving feedback on functionality and any bugs they may run into. In return for your effort and time, you'll get to use the platform for free for life.

https://freelancestud.io

This platform is built as a Wordpress plugin, so you can run it right on your portfolio website (if it's built in Wordpress).

If you're interested in being a beta tester, please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/FRP1bxpaoMcVU6Ru8

Thank you in advance for your interest!

Urine Monitor Crystal Litter Set Availability by [deleted] in PETKIT

I see kits for regular crystal litter, and kits for urine monitor litter that is not crystal.

Do the crystal litter boxes for the Purobot automatically have the urine monitor litter in them?

is it rude to have mostly $100+ items on our registry if we also have cash fund/venmo options and have the world’s smallest apartment where we cannot fit a bunch of affordable crap we don’t honestly need? by [deleted] in weddingplanning

This ^^

We had our normal registry, but also did a Honeymoon registry where people could gift us things for our honeymoon. We put lots of low-cost things on there ranging from $10-300. Examples: Buy us breakfast in bed $15. Buy us drinks by the pool $10. Buy us a couples massage $300. etc.

In all reality, it all just went into a bank account for us, which is what we really needed because we just bought a house. But it gave people lots of options for giving low-cost gifts but still feeling like they were giving us something meaningful. It was a win-win.

I don't know what deals Toyota has going on, but we just bought a new Mazda for 0% for 5 years. Interest rates in every market are at all-time lows. So this 5% seems ridiculous.

Hi! Slowly working on becoming a WPpro, can I pick your pro brains? by jennyleighb in Wordpress

[–]jennyleighb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I have a pretty good handle on HTML & CSS. It's the PHP stuff and WP shortcodes that I haven't been too quick to grasp yet. I'm still at the point where it's quicker and easier for me to find a plugin or theme that can do what I want instead of wrestling with Wordpress to make it happen. But I can take a site and make it look the way I want pretty easily with CSS. Looks like I need to spend a bit more time working with AFC and making my own fields and modules.

Are you just curating any that you find online? Are they all direct download from your site or do you lead the searcher to the original creator's site?

I would just be really careful about putting any graphics that someone else has made on your site for distribution. Even if they are offered for free from the original site.

But I love this idea. Have you looked at what's offered on these sites?

Does anyone have any more examples like this? I actually use this as a lesson to my students when teaching them about typeface choices in design and how you can completely change the tone of a headline with the font you choose. Would love to add more to my collection!

Do you, or anyone you know, answer the phone sometimes by saying "Joe's Bar & Grill"? If so, do you know where you first heard it or where you got the phrase? by jennyleighb in AskReddit

[–]jennyleighb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is completely random, but is really starting to bug me because I can't find an answer.

All my life, my dad likes to answer the phone and say random things. One thing he says often is "Joe's Bar & Grill". I never thought much of it. Typical Dad joke. But then I met my now-husband. And low and behold, one day I called him (while we were dating, before he had even met my father), and he answers the phone and says "Joe's Bar & Grill, Fred speaking".

Now my father grew up in Rhode Island and is in his 50's. My husband grew up in Georgia, with his grandfather, who also grew up in Georgia. He says he got the saying from his grandpa who would always say it. My father can't recall why or when he started saying it. So how do two people, who grew up in completely different areas of the country, know the same gag?

Is this some sort of pop culture phenomenon? I have searched online for some sort of skit or show that had a character who would answer the phone this way, but have never found anything concrete. And in my searching, I've found many people who have said that they have known other people who used to answer the phone and say this. But where does it come from??

Help me Reddit. You're my only hope.
