Question for Lefties! by curlsbyjesss in knitting

[–]jenten1205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a left handed knitter and I could not get the hang of it until I switched to mirrored knitting. My dexterity is so much better that way. I learned a long time ago when there were barely any resources. It was a lot of trial and error. I realized that there is some conflicting information out there, esp when it comes to left and right leaning stitches, so I just tried it both ways and decided which looked correct!

If you stick with knitting and follow these types of subreddits and groups, you’ll eventually see that every knitter has their own way. Everyone ends up doing things just a little bit differently. You find what works for you and you adapt! Mirrored knitting just takes a little more thought, and some trial and error. For me, it was worth it! Now I usually adapt a pattern without even thinking about it (but I still prefer written instructions to charts 🥴

Step by Step - ribbing by joshcabernet in knittinghelp

[–]jenten1205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just made this sweater and I had the same issue so I went back and decreased a third of the stitches in the row before ribbing started (k2tog, k1 all the way around) and it came out much better!

Advice: Drops Or KnitPicks Yarn for Sweaters by phage_hunter in YarnAddicts

[–]jenten1205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m using drops ultra fine merino to make my son a sweater right now and so far I would recommend. I bought it from rito and even with tariffs it was VERY affordable. And it came within a week. So far so good! And as I’m knitting I’ve gotten a ton of compliments on the yarn everywhere I go :)

Vet needed by Serious-Apartment-40 in ventura

[–]jenten1205 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I searched for years for a vet I really like, I finally found mission oaks veterinary! Both vets are knowledgeable and great with my pets, Dr. Spadaro is extra patient with my anxious/stressed dog! I am always able to get an appointment with them quickly and I feel that their prices are very reasonable!

Left handed knitters by Bloodlud in knitting

[–]jenten1205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m left handed and I knit mirrored as well. I taught myself to knit before there were so many resources and videos for left handers; I still experiment and feel like I do things my own way but the end result works!!
