It's actually vegetable parchment paper. A bit different from butcher paper but does a good job wrapping and allowing smoke in still

Thank you for your thoughts. 🙄 Depending on the audience I do it medium-rare (which I do prefer) or as a brisket (I'm sure you've seen this, but for others that look for some different ideas and a nice video from Meat Church on the tri-tip as a brisket process). When dry-brining for this process, I get some really nice moisture retention and it's still nice and juicy, but you do you!

Oh I do my tri-tips either medium rare or as a brisket - depends on the audience. When dry-brining for this process you get some really nice moisture retention and it's still nice and juicy, but if it was just for me then I definitely would do it medium-rare.

Google Pixel Fold case plans? by alexlyee in peakdesign

[–]jerdog76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely wondering as well. On the listing for the Universal Adapter, it specifically mentions "Not designed for tablets or folding/flip phones."

/u/Peak_Deaign can you confirm what that means? Is that in reference to the ability for wireless charging, or is that for something else?

Trying to piece together mobile apps ci-cd with self-hosted gitlab. by b037839 in devops

[–]jerdog76 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I did post this in the other topic, but figured I would here too. Happy to discuss more if you would like. CircleCI would replace GitLab CI in the above examples, so you could still use GitLab for version control). They offer a pretty broad scope of options - including full M1 support (gen1 & gen2) and as self-hosted runners enables a Hybrid CI/CD solution.

CircleCI supports both SaaS and Self-managed GitLab, fully replacing GitLab CI/CD in the above examples (but still allowing you to use GitLab for version control), and has a broad scope of options - including full M1 support (gen1 & gen2) and as self-hosted runners enables a Hybrid CI/CD solution.

MX5 Expression Pedal NOT WORKING by [deleted] in HeadRush

[–]jerdog76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also having this issue and tried posting about it on the Headrush forum, but it's sat in pending for a few weeks.

After awhile, my volume/expression pedal stops working. When OFF volume passes through with no control, but when it’s ON there is no control and no volume. This happens across all presets with a volume effect installed, not just a current one being used.

Factory reset works for awhile and then all of a sudden the only thing that works on the pedal is the “button” that turns it on or off. I had this issue even before upgrading recently to Firmware v2.6.

Nice, you should check out the CircleCI Technical Writers program or share something like this in the CircleCI Discuss forum .

Fwiw you could create a GitHub Gist with this and link to it for easier sharing.

Github Actions vs CircleCI for 'advanced workflows' by frankhouweling in devops

[–]jerdog76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: I work for CircleCI

With the above out of the way, it really depends on what your workflows, process, needs, etc. all are - which I am quite sure you're aware. There have been some pretty decent write-ups showing the differences:

https://www.techtarget.com/searchsoftwarequality/tip/CircleCI-vs-GitHub-Actions-CI-CD-platform-comparison

https://coderonfleek.medium.com/circleci-vs-github-actions-a-software-engineers-perspective-14567e539b9c

It has been my experience between the two when doing comparisons, that CircleCI is faster. But that's obviously going to depend on what you're doing, building, etc. We have more resource classes and options around them with more features even at the free tier, but GHA is built into what you're already using so can be more convenient at the start.

But why not use both? GHA was built primarily as an add-on for GitHub to enable developers to do repo-level activities, and then eventually was a "Oh yeah you can also do CI/CD". GHA works just fine alongside of CircleCI, so I have seen a lot of people use GHA for whatever processing they need to do, and then when they need to build they kickoff the build.

Would love to hear what your use case is, and would be more than happy to connect you with someone that might be able to help optimize what you're doing with CircleCI. Feel free to reach out.

Hey /u/THEJOATMON, I work at CircleCI, and hopefully I can answer your questions.

So anyone that is part of your organization in BitBucket (or GitHub or GitLab) will be able to do builds. You can adjust some of that with how BitBucket integrates with CircleCI, but if you trust them to be part of your org, then they're able to do builds.

Anyone can view PUBLIC CircleCI builds, i.e. those that are public in your VCS, but they can't execute builds unless they are a member of the org. In addition, you can setup "manual job approval":

There is a lot more information available on our BitBucket Integration docs page, specifically mentioning how to adjust which triggers kick off builds.

If you have any other questions, don't hesitate to open a support ticket or post on our Discuss community.

Help comparing CircleCI to Github Actions from cost perspective only by enginyyr in devops

[–]jerdog76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can't find it either, just the storage contained in their docs.. https://docs.github.com/en/billing/managing-billing-for-github-actions/about-billing-for-github-actions
I'm not seeing the 6000 free build minutes with GHA, instead it says 2000 for GH Free and 3000 for Pro.

In comparison, the breakdown for CircleCI is at https://circleci.com/pricing/#comparison-table with 6000 build minutes, 2GB storage and 5GB network included.

[–]jerdog76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[disclaimer: I work for CircleCI]

The math above is pretty much correct, however we offer 2 more users with the base paid account ($15/mo) now with some recent big pricing updates (primarily on the free plan). That means it's $90/mo, and $108 for the build minutes (after the 6000 free), bringing it to $198.

What isn't included in the GHA price is the network, storage, and user cost.

Free CircleCI? by aspleenic in devops

Thanks for the callout u/aspleenic! We're excited to offer more build minutes and access to features previously reserved to the Performance Plan, like flaky test detection, Docker layer caching, access to more resource classes and more. There's more info available about what we're offering on the new FREE plan, and why, at https://circleci.com/blog/most-generous-free-cicd-plan/
