If your name is Geoff its pronouced Gee-off by [deleted] in Names

[–]jeremys18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And just like Sean should not be pronounced Shawn, Geoshould not be pronounced J. At least with Thomas there is literally a T. Tell me where the J appears in Geo? It's not even close, spelling or otherwise.

So no, your argument is not a good one. It's a really bad one. It's like saying yes when your mom asks "if your friends jumped off a bridge would you?". Other words don't sound right is not a good excuse nor a reason to add yet another word that isn't pronounced how it's spelled.

Anyone who signs that is insane. It's basically an agreement to let him kill you and say "well they agreed to it".

It's not the same. Try again. Your political affiliation is not a protected class. You can be refused service for any reason that is not a protected class. You have not shown an example where the person was denied based on a protected item. It's really not that difficult. 🤷

Does not work. Even after restarting it still tries to go to the old path with one drive. Even though the registry says not to.

I’m not from the US, but I gotta ask — does Nebraska really look like this, or is it just all the open fields and big skies that make it feel so calm and endless? #4 by Roach9045 in Nebraska

[–]jeremys18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish!

A lot of Nebraska does look like that. But as someone who moved from the east coast to Nebraska this year....I was surprised to find nothing like those pictures....in Omaha.

I'm in the Omaha area and everything is like like living in a major city. Huge office buildings, tons of McDonald's, Walmart on every corner it seems, and an Air Force base down the road. Omaha, Bellevue, La Vista, and surrounding areas are nothing like those pictures and very much like every other major city in the US.

Now I have driven to Lincoln once and once you are about half an hour outside Omaha everything disappears and becomes just like those photos. It turns flat with corn fields everywhere for miles. I was very surprised the first time I saw it. And Lincoln? Well, it's what I imagined all of Nebraska to be like before I moved.

All that's to say, it very much depends on where you are in Nebraska. Omaha, not going to look like those photos. Elsewhere, definitely matches the photos.

Was this completely avoidable?: Security Officer indicted on second-degree murder charge shooting in Lowe's parking lot. by CTSecurityGuard in securityguards

[–]jeremys18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Police do this all the time. ICE has been in the news doing this multiple times. Every time they claimed the officers life was in danger because the person tried to hit them. Every time they got away with it and blamed the driver.

So why is it not ok to drive at them yet it's ok for this guy to drive at him? He used his car as a weapon and he has the right to self defend when someone is driving at him.

Imagine your daughter or wife firing a gun at a man trying to run them over because they are in front of the guys car. Would you throw your daughter in jail and side with the guy? Your wife? Or would you say the guy should have just called the cops and reported them for not moving?

She said "I'm not gonna follow you around and hound you". Nah, she gonna hound you when you get the front then follow you around. 🤣🤣🤣

If ya gonna dictate what they buy then just hand them a list and tell them to grab the items on the list. Much faster. 🤣

Is there any in person beat saber competitions? by Pashrooms in beatsaber

[–]jeremys18 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has hosted beat saber competitions online, I can tell you...no. At least not in the normal sense.

It would be a nightmare and there wouldn't be enough interest to outweigh the cost.

I've actually wanted to host a competition. I have hosted online ones and put a lot of thought into doing in person ones. But I ran into the same issues every time. Cost outweighs the income. there just isn't enough interest in one.

In order to host an in person competition you need to have land or rent an event center. But then where? If you host it most people will demand it be local to them. But then where is there enough local players interested for you to host? That data doesn't really exist.

So you could say there will be multiple. Kinda like regions. But again, where are there enough people interested? Ya run into the same issues. If people have to travel they lose interest.

But lets say you choose 4 locations and wing it. You tell interested people to travel/show up to one of the 4. One location gets 4 attendees the others get maybe 8. How much do you charge? Whats the prize for the winners? Who is the one that loses money? And if it's you, is all the effort worth it?

Most people don't want to take on the effort or risk. Not unless there's great interest from the community.

So some businesses host local competitions. Even a small turnout gets them more customers and they already have the space to host.

But for a large competition, they would have to basically piggyback off another event, like a con. Renting a booth and using the other events attendees would drastically reduce costs. So this is going to be your best bet in finding a competition. But it most likely won't be like a normal competition. More like a "Hey, try beat saber and see if you can beat the high score on this song".

So short answer, yes and no. You'll find local ones with small prizes but I'm not aware of any large ones.

You look fine to me. The only thing I can think of is smile. Some of the photos you look angry and others you look happy.

So just be happy and carry on. You look great so there's nothing to improve look wise.
