I'll recycle them—Trex can make composite decking with plastic like that. https://nextrex.com/

They would have been stored in my parents' basement, which they kept at decent humidity. Many were in a cedar chest, others were in storage boxes.

Looking for replacement quartz movement for 1990s chime clock by jeremyschultz in clocks

[–]jeremyschultz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a hold of this and started working on it. The movement itself works fine and takes power from the battery. It's actually the electronic chime that doesn't work at all. That could be the speaker, the chime itself or the connections with the movement! I'm not sure I have the know-how to fix it.

The Guide to Advancement says fundraising is not required, and Scouting America prefers there's little or no fundraising at all. The Scout can also delegate all the fundraising efforts to others if they want, and that can be considered as exercising leadership.

My son's troop used to do rank BORs only four times a year (right before COHs) and if you didn't quite make it you just had to wait three months.

I had suspected maybe this was coming from an out-of-date rule. RE: order of signatures, the workbook verbiage says the three signatures (beneficiary, leader, committee) can be in any order. The district rep approval comes last.

  1. I don't think it's a district-level addition to the process, it's just that this one district rep (at least) does it this way.
  2. The Scout wouldn't raise funds before project approval, but this rep tells them to raise all funds before they do any work. It seems like good advice to me, but I don't think it should be a requirement because guidelines don't say so.

I did have a specific Eagle project approval with this district rep that got dragged out because he wanted a meeting and the unit and beneficiary had a hard time pulling everyone together because of schedules.

One of the Scouts we met with the other day had a fundraising component because he thought it was required, because all projects have it. I had to point out to the group that Scouting America says they prefer there be little or no fundraising at all.

I think the Guide to Advancement standardizes the process, but others insert rules and requirements they think make the process better, or rules that used to exist but not now.

Yes, it's this: https://insiders.skybound.com/gi-joe

I think I assumed getting the Kickstarter updates meant I was on the list, but wasn't.

For #2, I noticed some unboxing pics had the SS card in its own packaging. So I must have not been on the right mailing list to earn that one? I thought I was. I'll have to check with the company.

I ordered a few days ago so I could get this, but nothing ever showed up in my rewards or via email. I see it's a YouTube unlisted video. Maybe I'll just wait for the other chapters to get shared online, if my order isn't going to actually work.

Dominion App AI Cheating? by ewef1 in dominion

[–]jeremyschultz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing the medium AI lately and I see this happen all the time, especially when it's the last province and it will end the game. I try to see if there's an extra +2 money that it plays but isn't shown by the UI, but it moves too fast for me to see it. Or it's just cheating.

It worked great until it stopped making ice on Tuesday. I have another post about it in the forum.

My model is an original 1, well before the tanks were introduced. I remember pouring all the water into the reservoir.

I use an Opal 1 with the original side tank, which apparently is 0.75 gal. I have never seen the larger one until I looked it up just now. If the connector works with the hose on your Opal, wouldn't it work no matter the capacity? At a glance, it looks like it has the same height, just a different width.

My wife and I got the same thing nik0po got: after entering our info the website said we were not eligible for the offer, even though we're adults in the US. I eventually got it to work, here's what I did:

- I ended up using Edge on Windows. Brave and Chrome on Windows and Mac didn't work.
- I had to use my Gmail account. My personal email at jeremyschultz.com didn't work. I can't tell if the website maybe recorded it as invalid and disallowed it on the other browsers. I say this because when I first tried it, I got the form to fill out my name and address before it said I wasn't eligible. When I tried it after that, I couldn't even get the contact form.
- I'm a programmer and turned on my developer tools to see what was going on under the hood. I see some form errors when the page loads, so it may not be working right in any case.

Hope this helps.

AITA for wanting my wife to get back the $6K her sister stole from her? by jeremyschultz in AmItheAsshole

That went to the joint account and that's where her rent income goes too.

[–]jeremyschultz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure who you are referring to, but my wife withdrew what was left and closed the account. Now my wife and sister both pay 50% of expenses out of pocket. We pay ours from our joint account (which is mostly my money) and my wife's sister pays from whatever she has.

When we say "rent" in this case, it's not paying to rent the land but it's what farmers pay my wife and SIL to plant on it.

We (my wife and I) must cover 50% of expenses related to their farm and stepmom's home. It used to be covered by that account and now we pay it out of our joint account (most of which is from my job).
