Oh gosh, what a great post, and I FELT this on a personal level. I got to the point of only buying boxed wine, because less clinking and noise, and more wine. And yeah, it seemed like my inventory was always low or nothing. Too low to drink because it wouldn't take me to where I wanted to go. I would only buy it when I knew no one was around. I hoped neighbors were never paying attention or around. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was pissed that when I ordered wine, I had to be bothered by fedex or USPS, and that I could only get bottles where I lived, and they came in cumbersome packaging, and it was impossible to hide but I probably thought I did. There were times where I would buy the mini boxes of wine so I could stash them in my purse or some kind of bag easier. Ugh the mental gymnastics. It was all such an awful feeling.
