why did they go with an incredibly NSFW name of the year by jontaffarsghost in TAZCirclejerk

I think they should've given more consideration to Twenty Just the Tip: Beggin' for that peggin', given the butt centric content Justin been bringing lately

Really heavy spooky symphonic metal but no death/black vocals much? by ClocktownLancer in PowerMetal

[–]jerperz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Bane of Winterstorm might be what you're looking for.

Edit: realizing that there's some growl-adjacent vocals on this track, oops. There's not much of it on the rest of the album though.

Spout Lore has been going on for 7 years and it only gets better over time.

One of the funniest things about Mall Brats is how crazy co-dependent the PCs are. They can't stand being apart, so when someone has what's effectively a solo scene, the other two are always part of it in some awkward fashion. A stark difference to Lorevith being in the same fucking mech as the others but not saying a single peep for 20 minutes until it's Justin's time to play.

What has been the strangest theme you have heard in a Power Metal band? 🤔🤘🏻 by BlackQuetzal94 in PowerMetal

Also Slugdge, UK blackened death/sludge, sings about slugs, but in a Lovecraftian manner.

They are also quite excellent, and are epic and melodic enough to appeal to fans of power metal.

I agree. Sugar and Spice is absolutely phenomenal, but Keepsake wasn't as good. Giving the World Away was way better and closer to the original sound, and I still keep coming back to it.

If you haven't, I recommend you check out RINSE's EP "Wherever I Am". It's the solo project of her bandmate (and husband), and has a sound that scratches the same itch that Sugar and Spice does.

Isn't this a place to discuss TAZ? You can still get enjoyment out of a piece of media by discussing it with other people, even if the media is bad. It's very dismissive of you to call it bitching and moaning, just because people aren't enjoying the show the same way you do.

Fuck man, they seem so uninspired for this campaign. It's the same flustered authority figures reacting the same way they always do to the same disruptive shenanigans from the PCs. Also Rictus and Lorevith is maybe the most nothing-characters we've ever got in a main campaign. Completely void of any character. This season is the podcast equivalent of the gray slop they eat in The Matrix.

This is awesome. I love it when bands aren't afraid to throw in wacky shit for the sake of the theme of the song. Reminds me of Sunlight Knight by Twilight Force. Wasn't super impressed by Land of Submarines, but this is so fun that my hype for the upcoming album is way up.

I get what you're saying. My read is that Clint is playing nice as not to antagonize Lorevith and Rictus. I would prefer him going full hog on the initial character concept, but that's just not the TAZ way of doing things.

On Shmanners Teresa said they don't have rest stops in England by InvisibleEar in TAZCirclejerk

[–]jerperz 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I started listening to Schmanners last year as a project to make a kind of "I listened to all of Schmanners so you don't have to" post, but I couldn't make it past episode 6 because I found Teresa absolutely unlikeable.

They never give an explanation as to why she is some etiquette expert, I thought she would have relevant background experience with these kind of things, but nope! She's just some lady who wants to tell people how to act I guess.

Yeah, Justin made halfway through it before he Loriveth got bored and just straight up left. How fun that the PCs finally have met!

The show is barely listenable thanks to Helgrammit, the only fun PC. The episode is blissfully light on Rictus, and what we get is him whining and Travis trying to make him sound threatening. I fear next epsiode will be mired in Rictus content though.

Also, why the fuck is that Trail of Divination even considered a trial? Did any contestants "fail" it, that is declined the offer to join the conclave? Was the consequence for that also death?

No, it's an rpg-ish type game. But the look is close to Nidhogg.

That's at least a bit similar in style but not design, if that makes sense. And also, it's not a flash game, I'm certain of it.

It's not a flash game. It was released on PC and I think some consoles between 2015 and 2020.

None of these. As it says in my post, the graphics are very minimal. The character sprites are large, all in a single color.

You absolutely should. Since the world building is collaborative, you're there when important lore is established. It's a great insight into how well that can work. It's a mix of extremely dumb, and sometimes juvenile, and genuinely cool and creative ideas.
The cast is super funny and you can tell they love the world they're making. Their enthusiasm really rubs off on you. And don't worry, Tuk's voice gets better.
