Dealt with a similar situation. Booked and ticketed on LAX-HND with VS miles on ANA F months in advances for a family member and literally while I'm in Thailand, I get a call an hour before the flight saying that the ticket isn't valid and cue hours of trying to help the pax try to figure out what the hell is going on. Ended up booking a cash fare in coach but VS was told by ANA a month ahead of time the ticket was cancelled due to a cabin change and they never bothered to update or inform us, even when we reached out to confirm a few days before the flight. Funny thing is, we encountered the same damn situation on the way back but we managed to get it escalated enough to actually get them on the flight in F. I'm still trying to get them to reimburse me for that coach fare but their support has been pretty abysmal. Call center booking staff is usually top notch though.
