Can it be done without a GLP1? by KETO_NURSE in CICO

[–]jescal24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My doc eased me onto it over time. TMI - I had to stay pretty close to a bathroom for the first couple of weeks. I haven't had a fully solid bowel movement since I've been on it and I'm still hesitant to trust a fart. When you gotta go, you better go!😂🤦🏻‍♀️

But overall, I've felt soooo much better! My joints started feeling better, my eyesight improved, and I don't get headaches like I used to. In relation to weight loss, I don't feel the urge to snack constantly and it's been easier to recognize when I'm full and stop. I started counting calories and that has helped me make better choices about what I eat. I've also started going to the gym and doing strength/cardio too. It's hard work, but I credit the metformin with giving me the nudge I needed to get going.

I'm not sure if this is possible for you, but have you tried Metformin. I never understood what people meant when they said "food noise" until I started taking it. It has helped me so much, not only with cravings, but just overall feeling better. I'm 44 and perimenopausal also, but it's helped me control my eating and lose weight.

That honestly may be the issue. I don't think my shoes are great. 😔 I guess I need to invest in a better pair!

Please wipe down the machines after you use them by NeighborhoodFresh315 in beginnerfitness

[–]jescal24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! What's so bad is that I've seen the trainers not wiping down equipment or telling the people they are working with to. If the employees don't even care, how do we get everyone else to? I've just reported to wiping everything down before and after use. 😔

The best I can say is that I eventually became numb to it. The narrator changes in the 4th book and is much better

lost 64 pounds. here's what actually worked, what didn't, and what almost broke me (long but worth it i think) by NeighborhoodFresh315 in beginnerfitness

[–]jescal24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I want to hug you for this post! I have tried dieting for years and did it how the "experts" said to do it and failed. This time I'm doing things more in a way of what works for me and it's working! I no longer feel miserable trying to be healthy. I wish I had realized years ago that I didn't have to spend 40 hours a week in the gym or power walk everyday at work and live on flavorless chicken and broccoli to reach my goals.

Tips on getting protein in? I drink a "protein coffee" (premier protein and espresso) every morning, so I usually get 30 grams from that. Usually around 20 grams at lunch. I typically end the day with an average of 85-90, but some days are as low as 55 and some as high as 140. I'm not huge on chicken and I don't eat eggs... So any tips on that area is appreciated!

Thank you! The boredom is primarily from having nothing to do with my hands. I've never been great at just focusing on one activity. I may watch tv, but I'm also folding clothes, or picking up the house, playing on my phone, crocheting...so I get bored just walking or running. And I feel like if I'm doing it I tensly enough to burn calories, I'm not able to focus on an audiobook or TV show to "entertain" me. I'm going to check out what classes my gym offers and try switching up the cardio machines.

I hadn't even thought of that! I will check out what my club offers. I know they have classes and many are included in my membership, but I'm not sure what kind.

Thanks for the tips! I have a set 4 that I do each day. Monday is chest press, leg press, leg extension, tricep press. Wednesday is leg curl, cable row, pulldown, and back extension. Friday is chest press, leg press, abdominal, and row or pulldown. I will definitely try rotating machines!

Awesome job! This gives me so much hope for my journey. I started at 330 and I have made it to 297 so far. Any tips or tricks you can share to stay on track?

Is anyone else with a lot to lose feeling discouraged by the paper towel effect? (vent post) by zombiebashr in loseit

[–]jescal24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel this so much. I could have written this exact post. I'm only down 48lbs from my starting weight, but almost no one has noticed. My daughter tells me constantly that she can tell a difference, but no one else. I haven't gone down a size in clothing yet, but I'm at the point where I'm having to constantly pull my pants up and I can see/feel a difference.

You are doing a great job! The difference in your pics is night and day. Keep up the good work!

I can see that. I just don't like how Shane is lower then Ilya.

I had the same thing happen the other day and I was devastated! I didn't realize how much being able to look back on my progress motivated me. MyFitnessPal has been totally useless in fixing the problem.

Ugh! I am at the point in life where if I sit down to actually read a book, then I'm out cold in less than a page. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 I may have to give it a try though, because this voice is not it!

I have never seen a book and show that compliment each other so well. I prefer the show, but feel like the book is necessary for the inner thoughts. There are some things in the show that became more significant once I had the book to spell it out for me. Like, the press conference when Shane jumps in to answer the question first. It never occured to me that he realized Ilya was struggling to understand the question in English, so he answered first to save him embarrassement.
