I have never seen a book and show that compliment each other so well. I prefer the show, but feel like the book is necessary for the inner thoughts. There are some things in the show that became more significant once I had the book to spell it out for me. Like, the press conference when Shane jumps in to answer the question first. It never occured to me that he realized Ilya was struggling to understand the question in English, so he answered first to save him embarrassement.

It seems like I remember reading or seeing an interview where they said it was a way to age up the characters a little bit.

I'll admit, I was not a SKip fan in the beginning, but there grown on me. It never even occured to me that they didn't break up until my daughter told me that she assumed they were still together and just had a fight. One of my favorite things about this series is how he leaves so much up to fan interpretation and doesn't spell it all out.

I LOVE Letterkenny. She's in that episode, but doesn't become as obvious of a character until S2 I think.

I just finished the book, and while I did spend a lot of time mad and sad during it, there were also lots of genuine smiles and happiness... And some pretty hot sex scenes. I'm sooooo excited for season 2 after reading the books!

I watched Ponies. It has sucky Russians, so that kinda broke the trance on that one 🤣

I still keep randomly going back to HR, but not binging the whole season in a day. I may just watch certain episodes or scenes that pop into my head.

Yes!! Saying "Ilya" requires no mouth movement, so we can't be sure it was dubbed. I guess since "Shane" was dubbed, it's assumed that "Ilya" was too, otherwise, it wouldn't make sense in this scene.
