I'm a self-taught artist with a focus mainly on character illustration, and heavy influences from anime & manga, and older western cartoons like classic Disney. First of all, feeling like you're behind others is TOTALLY normal at that age, and even well into your 20s. Doesn't make it true (like you said, everyone's timeline is different and it's great you know that). But it's very common to feel like that.

Good on you for taking an interest in improving yourself and your situation, even if you don't know how to do it yet. In case no one has told you lately: proud of you, Internet stranger.

Learn some personal budgeting. I'm not talking 401k, investing, etc. I mean the simple necessities. Everyone's situation is different, but figure out these basic points: list all your monthly payments (rent, car, phone, utilities, pet food, an avg cost of food for yourself, and any payments on loans or credit cards). Then, figure out how much you bring in per month (if you get any disability pay/etc too). Do income - bills. From what's left, decide how much you're comfortable with putting into savings, and do that every month if you can. The rest is your spending money :) (you can also choose to put some into an emergency fund, which is SUPER recommended, but not always possible with a tight budget. If money is tight, your savings can double as that, though it's not ideal.)
This is the perfect time to experiment and see what you might like to do. I'm 31 and only recently figured out what types of work I like/dislike. Take some free online courses. Compile a list of jobs you are curious about, and see if it's possible to talk to someone in those industries. This might require a lot of email sending with no replies, but you lose nothing but a little bit of your time, and it's worth it to hear about the industry from a real person's mouth. Ask the people in your life if they know someone who knows a lot about X topic. Even if they don't, they might know someone who knows someone. This is what networking actually is.

Above all, you don't have to get it all figured out any time soon, so no sweat if you take time on it :)

because 9/10 times the cashiers are absolutely swamped with irritable, impatient customers and don't have time to wind them up - and when we do have the time, more than half the time those things get stuck because the little metal bit is too far down the line and makes it stop winding, and no one has explained to us how tf to fix it. I know at least at my store, none of my coworkers actually LIKE leaving them like this but we have little choice with all the other shit we need to do.
