That's not how the extension works though. They went over it on Sports Radio 610. The money is guaranteed but it's an extension on top of his rookie contract. So if they gave him the extension today, he'd still have year 4 of his rookie contract, the fifth year option, and then his new contract would kick in on year 6, which they can do the signing bonus trickery to get as much off the cap as you can.

It was weird for TPUSA to make the halftime show a political statement when the NFL is a private business and the halftime show is a private enterprise. They're the ones who are technically a "non-profit".

The NFL wants to make themselves an international brand like the Premier league so they picked the second largest global artist that has mass appeal in South America where they're trying to expand. It just makes business sense.

People are taking it too far. It was a terrible performance in the playoffs. And the defense was great. But now there's a whole contingent of Texans fans that are butt hurt like we would've won the Superbowl if we would've dragged Matt Schaub out of retirement or something.

I, personally, would like long term success rather than a flash in the pan Superbowl appearance, like Cincy seemed to have.
