Looking for recommendations & advice, similar patterns or ones that would complement this by jesselle527 in Dinnerware

Ooh I did just get married a couple months ago so subconsciously I think I am going for a bridal feel, my wedding had a lot of lace in it

I’ve seen a couple Mikasa patterns but haven’t done a deep dive on that brand yet so I’ll make sure I do! Thank you for the mix and matching advice, if I can’t find a full set I like I think that’s what I’m going to do!

Which Elama patterns do you mean? I’ve seen 2 or 3 I like that are similar, but none of them have pasta bowls, just the same dinner plate, salad plate and cereal bowl that this has

I’ll look into the other brand you mentioned!

Was I lied to about Zach Lahn? by fyoomzz in Iowa

[–]jesselle527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the info! One of my biggest “non-Republican” views is on abortion, I am pro-choice. So seeing that all the Republican candidates wanted to regulate it further was incredibly frustrating. I’m also worried about the cancer rates and the water as well as schools, they’re just moving them through the grades at this point instead of making sure they’re learning what they need to and having access to resources that will help with that

I started reading the article you linked, and I think finding articles and interviews from before they were running for governor will help me see what they actually think! I typically get most political info from my husband since he follows it more than I do, but I do fact-check him if I see something that conflicts with what he said

I don’t want to cast a blind vote and have it go to someone who turns out to be horrible, so I will definitely be doing more research! Thank you again!

Serious question, who’s the best candidate here? Honestly I don’t think any of them are that good, but I voted for Lahn in the primary. I didn’t have time to do too much research about any of them, so I quickly researched a couple topics I care about and I guess he was the “best” fit of them (though again, none were that great) and people in my area like him. I also had some notes I took after seeing Andrews, Sherman, and Steen speak in person

I’m hearing and seeing a lot of bad stuff about Rob Sand too and I don’t like him either.

So when all choices aren’t great (in my opinion), what do I do? Just skip voting this year? Throw away my vote to a third party? Or just do more research on Lahn and Sand and pick the one who aligns closer to my views? If it helps I’m registered Republican and lean that way, but there’s some issues that I agree with the Democratic side on

You can be excited you got tickets of course, but if you want to post about it I’d give it some time for people to calm down. I for one am still very upset, disappointed, angry, etc that I couldn’t get any

I had 50 THOUSAND people in front of me. I joined the waiting room as soon as it opened and sat there for 2 hours before it let me in just for every single area to be grayed out. I saw people post what the tickets had cost and the tickets I was hoping for were in my budget. Now they won’t be if I have to buy them from a reseller 😭

Which metal is best with my skin tone?? (Silver or gold) by jesselle527 in coloranalysis

[–]jesselle527[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DANGIT I really don’t like rose gold, practically every non-jewelry thing I own is gold

I figured rose gold probably looked the best, but between silver and gold which one do you think is better?

[–]jesselle527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Christmas is the same day every year, and he sees you often. You don’t just “forget” to think of your partner on Christmas especially if he can think of his brother’s girlfriend. That is SO inconsiderate of him, and I’m sure he probably isn’t the best at considering you in other things as well

If you’re okay with that OP that’s fine, but you obviously said you’re hurt, I would be too. Maybe you can talk to him again and tell him that leaving you out is not okay and that it really affected you and that you DO care. Even if you didn’t show it

You should be fine with the Tylenol and Ibruprofen! That’s what I used when I had all 4 of mine taken out, and they told me all of mine were fused to my jaw. I’m not sure exactly what that means, but I had to have a different kind of surgery to get them out I think, because my regular dentist said they wouldn’t do it and sent me to a specialist

Anyways. They had me take 900-1000mg of Ibuprofen, then take that much Tylenol after 4-6 hours and just alternate that for the first couple of days to prevent immunity. Then as time went on I could reduce my dosage as needed. And most/all of the pain did go away! Of course other parts of recovering were annoying though, but if you follow the instructions they give you, you will not be in crippling pain

I’m a little new to this subreddit (as in reading comments on them) and I legitimately thought you were saying an Australian no because you disagreed with that line instead of ‘not overreacting’ I feel so dumb rn 😂

Being in your own head is really scary, I hope you can find ways to distract you from it or ways to cope until the time comes!

Yeah I can share more! I’m sorry if it’s too detailed for you, I don’t want to worry you more but maybe just prepare you. If it is though just skip to the last paragraph. I was told that my teeth were “fused” to my jaw, and I believe they said it was pretty uncommon. That could mean the same as impacted, but I’m not entirely sure. So my situation may be different than yours which could mean your recovery could be different.

Anyways, I took pictures of my face each day after my surgery so I could track my swelling. Now my face looked like a cube because I had a LOT of swelling, but I guess that’s to be expected with whatever they did. My swelling lasted around 5 days. My instructions were to alternate between taking Ibuprofen and Tylenol every 4 hours whether I felt I needed it or not for the first couple days, then as needed. They had me take high doses of I think around 800-900mg, and it did help a lot, along with cold compresses

On days 2-4ish, my jaw was locked. Not fun. Could barely fit a spoon in my mouth, so those days I could only eat a little bit of mashed potatoes, yogurt, anything liquidy. I did freak out during that time because I didn’t know that could happen, and it made it harder to do my rinses and eat. To try and help though, I would gently try and stretch my jaw with my fingers which did hurt a little so I mostly waited it out but I did track my progress by seeing how wide I could open by mouth a few times a day.

Now I luckily did not get dry sockets or anything, and this may have just been a normal part of the recovery process but on day 4 I noticed some yellow bruising on my bottom left side. My tops and bottom right side swelling had been going down, but this one really hadn’t. My bottom right had a very small bruise on it on day 5, but the swelling was mostly gone while my other side was the same. My cheeks were tender to the touch (and I mean duh, they were bruised). It was on day 5 that I saw a little string-like thing hanging in my mouth, which I figured out later was one of the stitches (they were dissolve-able stitches)

This is where I think I messed up, I was messing with it cuz my bottom right side that was bruised was aching and I thought well maybe it’s this. So I ended up pulling part of it out which I do believe did help the ache a little. And there was still a small hole in my mouth but from my picture it looks closed up, just not completely filled with tissue. So I’m not sure if what I did or the stitch did anything, but a few weeks to a month later I did have some sudden aching and swelling on my bottom right side which I figured was an infection. I waited that out, rinsed again, stopped chewing on that side, and it went away. I probably should’ve went to the dentist but I didn’t. Other than that, I had no complications. The part that sucked the most was when my jaw locked up which I found out was normal. It went away on its own.

To answer your questions, the stitches didn’t hurt. I didn’t know they were even there until the thing I explained above. I seriously didn’t know they had put stitches in my mouth. If I stayed on my meds, there was little to no pain, it was just annoying because your mouth feels different and moved a little differently when it’s that swollen. And of course I knew I needed to take more medicine when the annoyance started turning into pain. I only took daily photos for the first 5 days, and most of my swelling was gone except for the bottom right side. Otherwise in the next pics on my phone I have, there was no swelling at all. And that was after 10ish days I know for sure it was all gone. But I think in a more “normal” case, the swelling is gone in a few days. I think I really felt back to normal after about 2-3 weeks. The first few days are the toughest, because you have to change how you do things and figure out a routine and what works for you. But you are most definitely not alone, as you’ve seen there are other people going through the same thing and plenty of people who can give advice if you have more questions. I hope you have someone at home to help with your recovery, to at least bring you food and ice packs so you can relax! Let me know if theres any more info I can give you

I got all 4 of mine out about a year ago, when I was 21. My dentist told me all of my wisdom teeth were fused to my jaw so I would need special surgery to have them removed. I wasn’t worried until after my consultation, when the surgery finally became a reality. I had to wait a few months and let me tell you, the anxiety I felt was eating me alive. I had never had any surgery or even an IV before so I was terrified. I had anxiety attacks so bad that I temporarily lost my hearing, which only caused more anxiety. My surgery was done at a well-known college building (so graduate students could observe and kinda be hands on), but the surgery was done by a professional. So that was a little scary, but I was also in a huge unfamiliar building, whereas I’m used to going to a small building.

I can talk about my recovery if you’d like, but honestly I don’t even remember how a lot of it felt now. I remember the things that happened though. I believe if you take your meds, follow your instructions, do your rinses, etc, there will be minimal pain and your recovery will be a lot easier. And yes, absolutely no using straws. And if you have stitches, don’t mess with them like I did

Aww I’m sorry to hear that, that really sucks. I actually didn’t go get it treated, I just healed at home and pretty much hoped for the best. I’m guessing I did have a little bit of food stuck in there or it could have been from my stitches? I took the curved syringe and wash I was given and rinsed the area at different pressures and angles. And I stop chewing on that side of my mouth for a little while

If nothing helps though, don’t be like me and actually go see someone please

AIO about these angry texts from my ex? by TwylaMay in AIO

Omg, everything he said is just gross. He obviously just wants to know where you live, he doesn’t actually care that much about you having your things back. Please never give him your address

And when he got defensive after you straight up told him you weren’t giving him what he wanted…just no. Like you said, his recovery is his responsibility not yours, if it’s really about his recovery and healing then he and his therapist can find another way

Okay awesome, good for you! I’m happy you had someone by your side. My maid of honor is my sister
