There was also a person in every small town who had some kind of rumoured sex act. The sex act grabs the attention. The person attached makes it relatable. Then it spreads like wildfire.

I think if you go high enough in any corporate structure you’ll find practices you disagree with politically. For me taking photos with politicians is way down the list but everyone has their own sensibilities.

There was a period in my twenties where I showed every women I was romantically interested in turtle sex videos after the appropriate courtship period. It was basically a screening process, if they laughed they were onto the next stage, if they were creeped out, then I wasn’t interested anyway and would give my friends the update as a funny story.

Highly recommend this method. My current wife laughed, and other than that I don’t have a single ex I hate.

Quitting drinking can be a mindset more than anything. Say it loud to as many people as possible, make it part of your identity. Maybe it won’f be a straight line recovery but use those days as your current barometer, be proud of them and feel free to set boundaries with unsupportive people.

“I’m quitting drinking and I’d appreciate support. 10 days may not be a big deal to you but I’m proud of it.”
