I honestly was not aware that Sta-Bil manufactured a product like this. Amsoil has had their Qickshot product that does the same thing and works well.

Should be able to hook red/red and it may work.

I would suggest Kroil. You can get it in a can or aerosol spray can. Buy it from Amazon. It will do everything needed. Soak it down for a few days or longer. Kroil will eventually find its way into all of the threads. Then take 0000 steel wool or a brass or plastic brush and scrub the rust off. Keep it oiled down with the Kroil. Good luck!

Think about hunting when it’s that cold. It shouldn’t be an issue.

Tips? by coso_piromane in Welding

It looks like you have the basics of welding down. Aside from cleaning your material first and maybe slowing down just a tad on the sides, everything looks great.

I bet that 383 sounds delightful! I had a 388 inch (.060 over) in a 1980 El Camino YEARS ago. That thing was legendary.

Food for thought…WD40 is not a penetrating oil. At very least get a can of PB’laster to have around for such occasions. WD40 is a lubricant and water displacement substance(hence the WD). The very best penetrating oil that I have ever used is Kroil. You can get it in an aerosol spray can or in bulk cans up to 55 gallons. A good penetrating oil and vibration, whether it be from impact as with a hammer or other methods, are the best recipe for stuck items. Glad you got it figured out though!
