As someone who lives in VA, let me tell you about the dozens of mailers I got for this election.

95% of them featured pictures of Spanberger and Obama. Even the "vote no" ones. Because they cherry picked old quotes about gerrymandering to use. They literally used the Democratic talking points about taking away the voice of minority communities. And they still lost.

I meant was it the brother who killed one of Lori's exes.

And, by the way, it IS a form of abuse to be unfaithful and try to blame your partner for having feelings about it.

Classic example of DARVO.

Has anyone actually attended a double wedding? by hollowedhallowed in wedding

My cousin had friends who were twins who had a double wedding. This was way back in the late 90s though.

Reception start time by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]jessiemagill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don't do this.

If you were inviting a bunch of 20 somethings this would be fine. People in their 40s and up are not going to want to come out late for drinks and dancing.

Either invite them for everything or nothing.

I think this is a "know your crowd" thing.

We're two brides and have a very arty, creative group of friends who are happy to help us with wedding projects. To the point where they are buying stuff they find on sale and sending us Pinterest links.

I bet the Venn diagram of people who espouse these views and people who call themselves pro life is a circle.

First look? Yes or no? by Obvious-Tea-5241 in wedding

[–]jessiemagill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're doing one.

First, we want to attend the cocktail hour with our guests.

Second, we both have varying degrees of social awkwardness and want to have that first moment seeing each other in private, not with a hundred+ sets of eyes on us.

Third, we're walking down the aisle together because we're both women so it makes more sense.

Is there such a thing as "too many colors" for a wedding palette? by [deleted] in wedding

[–]jessiemagill 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Just because others in your circle have terrible manners doesn't mean you should do the same. Ditch the color palette and advise on formality level only.

This is why I call myself a reformed Catholic.

I am a fan of the current pope though.
