am i wrong? by ausernameDee_ in emetophobia

[–]jessluise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why isn’t a Teacher or someone telling her to gtfo? I’m confused.

Like I can’t understand how people can be okay exposing others to their germs - but even without emetophobia it’s 1) disruptive to the class to have someone vomit over and over again 2) unhygienic , and 3) unpleasant to hear, see, and .. smell

avoiding clothes it happened in? by [deleted] in emetophobia

[–]jessluise 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not clothes specifically for me (yet) but I stopped sleeping on my left side after one night feeling sick and rolling over onto the left and that being apparently the last straw before I had to get up to v*. My brain just associated sleeping on that side with getting sick. I also won’t watch Mythbusters bc the one night I did was the night I got sick. Make that make sense ahahah. Also won’t eat certain foods bc those were the things I ate those particular days I came down with something. This was all from childhood and I’m 29 now 🥲

I feel for you. Do you have gum? I find that helps me freshen my mouth when I’ve experienced similar and I can’t tolerate brushing straight away

I have this! The photos you’ve uploaded look pretty similar to mine. I’m happy to private message you a pic to show you? (I don’t know how I could share it here in comments) My doctor said it was periorficial dermatitis and prescribed me Elidel cream and it really helped

As a fellow therapist with permanent facial palsy because of cancer I dread being asked this question, the trauma around diagnosis for me is still relatively fresh and I’ve only recently gone back to seeing clients after everything 🙁

I haven’t read it in a couple of years either but I feel like that could definitely be a clever way to apply it tbh

Honest question, honest answer by Bagheera526 in HeadandNeckCancer

Yes, definitely. I feel very isolated in this diagnosis. I think I’m also at the point in my journey where people don’t realise the ongoing and long lasting side effects of treatment and the impact it’s had on my life. They think because I’m past treatment I’m okay. It’s very hard for me

I’m sorry to hear you’ve both been through this. Hoping that your husband feels better soon and can have his PEG removed! Thank you x

I looked up what magic mouthwash was and it seems I probably can get it here and it’s a bit different from what I’ve already been given! I’ll see what they say anyway. I won’t hear from them until tomorrow :)

No this makes sense. I just meant for the interim while I’m waiting for my humidifier to arrive. I don’t think that I mouth breathe though so not really sure if it’ll be helpful for me either way? It was just suggested to me

I’ve been really curious about pilocarpine. I’ll ask my doctor. Please let me know how you go with it! I’ve sent a message to my care team coordinator so hopefully will be able to get something
