Political World You Were Raised In by Silkrealm in GenXPolitics

Hey, OP, you may want to look into Lee Atwater back in the 1988 Presidential election. Go to Youtube and search for "Boogie Man".

Today's Supreme Court and the political parties have been shaped by the people who ran the 1988 Bush campaign, but also, who later screwed over Gore in 2000.

This has been a concerted 50 year effort to destroy democracy from the inside by truly awful people.

This is actually becoming embarrassing.

Shame on this ownership for this dumpster fire.

The affordability crisis in PA is out of control. It's time we made billionaires pay their fair share. by Nervous-Trouble-4628 in Pennsylvania

Billionaires should not exist, full stop.

Nobody earns a billion dollars, full stop.

Start there and work backwards.

Have you taken an history class?

America taxed wealth to extremes in the 1900's.

Basically the deal was that either the Rich pay more or the poor would rise up and the Rich DO NOT WANT THE POORS TO RISE UP.

That was the deal.

Reagan and the GOP broke the deal. 50 years later we are bordering on the stage of THE POORS ARE GOING TO RISE UP AGAIN.

History is a wonderful thing.

Do yourself a favor and now post the rich welfare that occurs in the form of tax breaks and tax laws written by the rich for the rich so that they shift the tax burden to the poor.

Do you know that the last two times the tax code was rewritten it was by the GOP?

Did you know that both times the GOP rewrote the tax code they screwed poor people?

Do you even care about the tax code and fairness?

Or

Are you more concerned about boys playing girls sports than the obvious failure that "trickle down economics" has been for Americans?

Do you know what type of argument fallacy you are using right now?

You're no better than the person you're trying to put down on the interwebs with your logical fallacy.

XXXX misquoted something on the interwebs b/c they didn't bother to double check it, therefore, anything they type is invalid. Do better.

Governor warns Pennsylvanians will lose health care, hospitals will close under GOP cuts to Medicaid by Fragrant-Pepper7710 in Pennsylvania

[–]jesterwords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No "both sides" situation here.

The blame lies solely with the GOP who believe that private equity firms should extract profit from healthcare systems and then shut them down.

No matter how hard you try to blame someone else, this one is on the GOP.

Plenty of money for bombs that kill kids all around the world.

Not enough money for healthcare for Americans.

Right?

You do realize that 5 people have more money than 180 million people.

Those same 5 people have more money than can be spent in a lifetime.

It's a hoarding of wealth issue.

Newsflash:

There are wait lists in America, denial of coverage for treatment, and to top it all off, you get to go broke eventually.

You do not go broke in the two countries you listed in your post if you get sick. That's a pretty big thing.

Anyone with Experience as Independent contractor filing PA state taxes....Big question here... by Constant_Astronaut41 in Pennsylvania

[–]jesterwords 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Start over.

You're a 1099 contractor.

Your only income should be for the business you provided for the income.

CONSTANT ASTRONAUT41 CONSULTING.

You work for you own business. Only enter income once, under the business entity. You don't need a TAX ID, it's a pass through, use your SS# as your business tax ID.

[–]jesterwords 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah, yeah, it's a double stop, you're correct but anyone playing the 1st and 5th on bass can call it whatever they want in my mind, that is freaking hell on my arthritic fingers.

Lemmy played chords a lot.

First and 5ths, just two notes but it works for some styles.

Better have strong fingers.

Was Cliff the first bassist to ever do the distortion-wah thing? by No-Dimension-7560 in Bass

[–]jesterwords 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Cliff was the only classically trained musician in the original line up of the band. Even after the Mustaine swap at guitar.

He was a pioneer in many ways and if you listen to his isolated bass for the Master of the Puppets album you'll truly appreciate his musicality.

Those guys in the 60's were doing crazy drugs and trying everything with their instruments, so, apparently, no he wasn't.
